Congrats!
Enjoy the engagement for now, the closer it gets to the wedding, things will become very hectic. I was just married in June. My advise, start the planning very early. Get your locations lined up quickly, as many will be booked if you wait too long. Also, no later than 6 months out, check in with everything (ceremony location, reception hall, photographer, etc) and make sure things are on track and no conflict has come up in the mean time...

Also, look into local planned developments. My fiance and I just got a call this week that the place we were going to have our reception is being remodeled by the County, so it's a hit or miss chance if it will be usable next June. The company that manages it is taking really good care of us though, just a pain to have to restart that planning process.

At least you know well enough in advance. Imagine my surprise when 3 days before my event, I was informed that my reception location was double booked. I had booked more than 2 years ahead of time...:brokenheart::cry:
