So this week marks my 1 year anniversary with my Yaris. To date I've logged a little over 20,000 miles and have had no problems with the car at all. I've gotten my oil changed every 5k miles. But I'm pretty noob wen it comes to anything other than oil changes for car maintenance. Now that I've had my car for a year... is there anything else I need to do? Planning on changing my air filter this week but don't know what else I need to take a look at. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Just check to make sure all the liquids are between low and high levels. You can change your cabin filter (or make your own using a reusable house HVAC filter), and like you said, change your air filter too.

Have you rotated the tires?

Rotating is done every 3-4 months. Unfortunately, my current set up doesn't allow me to rotate my wheels/tires (running staggered rims, directional tires).

I changed my air filter and put in a cabin filter... didn't know i didn't originally have one... How often is it recommended to change the cabin filter?

For me, filters of any sort should just be changed when they become relatively heavily soiled. If you drive in a dusty area, change them sooner. If not, then you can wait a while. Just check up on them every other month or so.

lol, yeah, I didn't have one either.

24000km is the usual recommended service. But yeah, if they are dirty or smell. Mine didn't have one, but has one now.
