Hello, I have just entered into the world of Yaris ownership, and now the Yaris World forums. I just bought a 2005 Echo RS as it is known here in Canada. This is only the second car I have owned, and I plan on owning it for quite a while. I was really drawn in by the reliability and fuel efficiency of these cars. Also, I find small cars a lot of fun to drive.

I picked this up last week with only 29,000kms (18,000 miles) on the odometer! The girl who owned it rarely drove it and was just keeping it around in case she ever needed it. It is stock everything. But it is the RS model so it has some nice options from the factory like the alloy rims, ABS, side skirts, spoiler, sport seats, sport seat fabric, interior chrome accents, power locks, power steering, etc. etc. It really is a joy to drive and even just to sit in. The pictures don't do the interior justice. It has a really slick and darker look than the other trim levels. I love it.

The next step is to make a few improvements. I plan on setting it up with keyless entry. Which should be easy. But more importantly it needs a sound system upgrade. The stock sound is just terrible. The biggest hurdle I see is that while this car does have 4 speakers, they are all in the front. There are no back speakers at all. Are there any Echo hatchback owners out there with some tips for where I should attempt installing rear speakers? The only place I can really see is in the panel in the hatch door. But I'm not sure how well that will work or sound.

Here are a couple shots:
