I have an 09 sedan. The factory service manual just says to remove the bolts and pull it out. I removed the top 2 bolts and the bottom bolt, but it just pivots. Is there something special you have to do on the 09?

No. It is just a case of it being super tight into that bottom area. You may have to at most pry it out a bit, but typically pivoting it all the way down frees it.

Careful with the Cam Sensor above the alternator. I damaged mine not knowing it was there using a long screw driver tightening the belt slack. :-(

yyyyeeeeeaaaahhhhhh! One of the guys helping me with my motor swap back in May/June did the same thing whilst getting the alt in the right spot  That was an expensive trip.

I ended up having to pull on it while rotating it forward and backward. PITA. CT you weren't kidding about it being tight!

We definitely were referring to the Yaris engine compartment using derogatory language.
