Wire Routing

I am planning to install an Onstar mirror on my 2010. Any suggestions on how to rout the wires down the drivers side pillar without screwing up the air bag inside? I understand that the battery must be disconnected, but as for stuffing wires in there...i'm not sure about that.

The airbag doesn't actually start until you get up to the headliner. The A pillar cover has a special clip to keep it from flying off, because when the airbag deploys, the headliner pops and pops off the top of the A pillar cover. If you actually remove the cover to run the wires you will need to get a new clip from your local dealer.

Thank you. I'm not really sure yet how i will do this. I did have an aftermarket remote start intalled a while back, i may follow the antena wire they installed and shadow it with my three wires. I'll post photos or a video whenever it arrives and is installed.

CTScott: I need to pick your brain. I will have three wires to rout. one for power, one for ignition and ground. Does the overhead map light have these wires? I won't have the specs as to the power requirements until it arrives. However, a while back I did install a powered mirror in our Rav4 and the wires used were from the map light/sun roof harness.
Your thoughts?

Our map light just has constant power and ground, so you will need to get to the pink wire on the ignition switch connector for ignition switched power.

Thank you. However, as i stated earlier, i had an after market remote starter installed. I started to investigate the pink ignition switch wire situation and found that they tapped into that same wire at the switch for the remote starter and it is a little tight in there now. I could probably tap into the wire they have going to the box they installed but will this mess up the remote starter? Or, is there another point down stream I can catch the pink wire...it disappears into a fiddle string of wires and i don't know wear it ends up.

The pin one is typically the easiest. You can tap the remote starter wire that is attached to it, as I am sure that the onstar box draws very little current.
