Hi guys !....so today i called Crutchfield in regards to speakers for our 2012 Yaris 4 door hatch and when i asked asked if the 6.5" will work i was told NOT ...i was floored...the guy told me that they are too "tall" ...what is a "too tall" ?...he basically said that if i modify it may work:confused:...can somebody please shed some light on why 6.5" speakers "will" not fit...front or rear....
Thanks,
Dan

Tall I think is the distace from the magnet to the front of the cone.

When I had the Echo...to fit my Infinity 6.5" woofs I had to mod a spacer or the magnet would be touching the metal skin of the door.

GTBaker, thank you .
A spacer mod i can sure make if that is all that may be the problem...then maybe i should go ahead and order the darn speakers...i apreciate your picture.

I just gutted the original paper speakers, then mounted the new Alpine 6.5'' speakers in the plastic mount from the original speakers. No need to make a mount to install new speakers. Peace of cake.

This is what a lot of folks have done...great mod on the cheap!

You might still have a depth issue if that is what he was referring to. You many wanna bounce what you are looking to purchase off folks here for insight or also call them back to clarify if they are talking about basket/magnet depth or what? :iono:

Yaris SE Runner, you didn't happen to have any pictures of your speakers install...do you ? Or maybe you can tell me what model/type Alpine 6.5" you used so at least i have an idea of depth.
Thank you
