^ have seen that one too, but it still doesn't take away from the beauty and grace of the LFA compared to the GT-R. When they build over 60% of the GT-R as a custom carbon fiber weave then come talk to me again. The quarter as well as that "drag race" isn't the point of the LFA just as straight linie isn't the point of the FRS/BRZ. I have nothing against the GT-R as it is a solid offering. I don't think that it truly invokes the same feelings as the "real" Skyline. The LFA is a true work of art like the Pagani for example whereas the GT-R is just another high performance build car.

Yeah, it's pretty, Il give you that, but at 400K it needs to be better than 15s faster than the GTR at Nürburgring.

60% CF, why isn't it faster, and handle a road course faster than the price tag??

Hell, if we're going that way...I can build a kit car for $25k that can out drag and out track both cars.

The point is, if you have that much money, you don't give a $hit what people with a Yaris think.

...and I do have a friend that has a GTR, a heavily modified GTR at that. He still thinks the LFA is gorgeous and wants to drive one.

it's kind of a no brainer rly... you can't expect a rwd to keep up with a 4wd when it comes to traction with two similarly powered cars.

I agree with this last post for the most part. You're adressing the traction part of two important rules the other one is power to weight ratio. I would imagine the drivetrain loss in a four-wheel-drive car has something to do with this whole subject as well.

I'm not saying either is better than the other, just opening it up for a healthy discussion.

Your point makes no sense!!

545 hp GTR
552 hp LFA
7.3 lb/hp GTR vs 5.9 lb/hp LFA

4WD "drivetrain loss" GTR
2WD "less drivetrain loss" LFA

If I had 400K to spend on a car, it wouldn't be the LFA eye candy, Id be in a 599 GTO.

But who am I? I drive a Yaris to work, and ゴジラ on the weekends!!

Excellent point! Apparently some folks are missing the point of my post in the first place. I only copy/paste'ed what was up on the FSB forum since in a way it is plagiarizing so I wanted to keep it as original as possible. My point for it is to provide more insight into what the LFA is and how it is designed. To be honest my buddy's Nissan Hardbody truck has a higher top speed and gets there faster than these two cars by a long shot, but that isn't the point. The GT-R is a beautiful car, but in a different way than the LFA. There will always be those that only judge a vehicle by how quickly it can hurl itself down the pavement. Seems that is the human condition. I really wish that I could see and sit in an LFA to determine the level of refinement compared to the GT-R.

And my point is that all the work in an LFA was in cosmetics, not engineering, else it would be faster and handle better.

Wow somebody really doesn't like the Lexus LFA. You go out of your way to slam that car. Point is you're never going to drive it, I'm never going to drive it so why do you give a crap if it's "only" 15 seconds faster on the ring?

I believe toyota made the LFA strictly to show off its capabilities. They had no intentions of really making any form of profit of this car. They wanted to show that they could make a super car also because all they were putting out were family cars and suv's. Which they did and by god is it an amazing design and the attention to detail is amazing. If I won a million dollars, no, I would not buy one.. if I won 100 million.. F*** yes I would buy one.
