Alright I know I might be asking a silly question for a Yaris… But has anyone ever replaced a steering wheel?

What do I need?… Is there anything I have to remember?...Any Extra Parts I would need to pick up?...Do bitches think MOMO Steering Wheels are sexy?

I have absolutely NO knowledge on the matter, And to be quite honest I am not interested in your opinion in the matter, Just in your Knowledge… But if you feel you must share your opinion… just know, I don’t care!

Who’s got some knowledge to drop on me?

Yeah, thats one thing I wouldn't know what to do with.

Its really the only thing, holding me back from changing my steering wheel.

You'll need what's called a Hub Adapter which basically connects your wheel to the steering column. The workshop here took care of that, so I am not 100% sure about compatibility.

Your airbag will be disabled, and you will always have the warning light up on your gauge cluster.

Momo are more than sexy, though the girls in my car were more interested in my shift knob

My car would fail inspection here in VA. New law states that any red dash light that comes on when the car is turned on must go out within a few seconds to pass. So having the red air bag light on all the time would mean my car would fail inspect. Im sure I could figure out how to wire a resistor in line to the ECU so that the air bag light does go off after like 2 seconds but....Just make sure its not going to fail your inspection with a red light constantly on.

you could always take the gauge cluster apart as of the DIY instructions and just remove the LED

Only thing is...they get in turn it on make sure all the lights light up then watch as they go out. Any light that doesnt come on is a fail.

Thanks... I found some of those guys online for like 75-80 bucks... That's not to shabby... As for the red light, I can give two shits about that... I live with the Main Requ light always on! That's the price of doing your own oil changes I guess!

I already have a sexxy Shift Knob, i just don't want my steering wheel to miss out on all the fun!

I know when people replace side airbag seats that they use a resistor across the plug so they don't get the airbag lights. Its probably just a matter of trying different size resistors until the light trips off.

I know you don't care but I have to say that the stock wheel is probably one of the nicer ones on any car I have ever seen. If you had an interior shop wrap it in leather it would be really sweet IMO.

you'll need a hub adaptor for your specific car...6 allen screws...and an allen wrench...when i install mine, i disconnect the airbag unit...and the battery to make sure it wont trigger the srs airbag....and after installation i test drive it to make sure it drives straight...otherwise the steering wheel placement needs adjusting..

You know you can make that go off by yourself if its just because it thinks you need an oil change.

Yeah I know... there's some song and dance about the Trip A Trip B... Turn the car off... Turn it back on... Jerk yourself off, spugg on the windshield, listen to a CD on MAX volume, then smoke a joint...

But I just don't have the patience for all that!

I would rather just Fast Forward to the Joint and call it a day!

I find it funny you'll install a steering wheel but not clear your M\R light. To each his own I guess.

Maybe I'm weird (well, I am), but the stock steering wheel looks obscene to me... The whole center part just kinda reminds me of a woman's crotch... I'd rather have the real thing

You just need to put a proper resistor in line and that will keep the light from coming on.

What if I change it with another Toyota Steering Wheel?

Are they all the same? can I take one off the Tundra or the MRS?

Or will only certain Steering Wheels fit on Certain cars?

That will solve the whole AirBag issue right?

That's quite an interesting question...

I know there's a TRD steering wheel which can be put on our car, and has an airbag, but as wheels from other cars, no idea.

Just make sure the Toyota steering wheel with airbag you install has 2nd gen airbags... then it should have the same harness... but you might need a converter if you use a 2002 or older year steering wheel...

I'll find out at work tomorrow- I've actually been thinking of the same thing- I just want one that comes out further from the column, seeing that the Yaris doesn't have tilt/telescope, and that would make a HUGE difference in comfort for me. As of right now, my knees are up around my damn shoulders to keep a good position on the wheel (I have really long legs). I look like a friggin' circus elephant riding a tricycle.

I also think the Scion T/c optional wheel will fit. you just use your exiting air bag section
