Offsets?

I am ready to order my wheels and tires.

Getting the 17" SportMax 001 and 205/40/17 FALKEN ZIEX 512.

I know what an offset is, but how do i know what i am getting?
Or better yet, what I need?

Do I just tell the wheel place, whats my car and what rims, tires i want. Then they firgure out if its going to work?

I am sure you are going with a 7 inch wide wheel, so it will be a +38 offset
and BTW the correct size tire is 215/40R17, and I would think twice about those tires, they only tend to last about a year under normal driving

I did do a search, but i wanted a direct answer to my question, not chancing 800 bucks over the net for the wrong wheels.

I am still confuse with your answer, you said the offset would be +38, but this site shows 4x100, 7 inch to be +40.

Those tires are rated 360 tread wear?

I thought anything above 350 is good for longevity? Unless the manufacture lies about the spec, i wouldn't doubt it, he he.

You'll be fine with a 40mm offset. With a 7 inch wide wheel anything between 38mm and 45mm will work. Also, I have that same size tire and it works great. You may want to listen to blackyaris about the treadwear on those Falken's however.

I beg you to re-consider… Sport Maxx Is a very good looking Wheel… Cheap too, but those wheels are so fucking heavy…

You will not be happy when you find out that your new good looking Rims are actually slowing down your car!

Weight is a very important factor in buying wheels for this car… Light weight… Trust me!

Its 5.1 pounds more then the stock ones.
I could get the 16" and drop it to 2lbs over the stock weight?
Does is really matter at those weights?

Yep, take a took at these pics, and you see why i want it.
Its a Scion, but a Yaris would make it look even better.
Also my Yaris is the same color as the Scion. :coolpics:

Tire choice is personal preference. I don't know anything about the choices edge racing has to offer but you can look up tire reviews. Those wheels are not to heavy for your car. My tire/wheel package weighs about the same as yours will and I can hardly tell the difference. If you like those wheels, by all means, indulge yourself.

I am going to take a chance on those Falken's. So far every review i read seem to says these are good tires.
I also saw this, maybe this should be put in a sticky somewhere, i am sure it will help all the noobs out there like me, hehe.

Yep, you can not beat a price of $ 788 shipped for both Rims and tires.

UTQG is set by the manifacture, so a 360 with Bridgestone could be good, but with Yokohama be shitty.... so you realy can't go by those, mileage ratings are about the only thing some what consistant.... The only reason I know about those exact tires is that I used to sell them and had nothing but complaints because of premature tire wear, and poor traction in the rain and very poor in the snow
