i have a 08 yaris hatch back, is there a recall on the water pump and power steering , some one told me it was on the news , anyone Know ?

I had a recall for my electric windows but not my water pump/power steering... I have a 2008 hatchback too. Check your mail if you have a recall letter :P

i did not even get one for the window switch , i did not buy the car new , so that mabey why i didnt get the recall .

The water pump/power steering recall is for 2011 and greater Corolla, Prius and Wish only.

Took my 08 Liftback in about a week ago, the only recall its had was the window switch, which is a very minor fix. Took less than thirty minutes, and that's only because the shop was backed up.

I called my Toyota dealer more than a month ago about the window switch recall. The Service Manager stated that my 2008 Yaris had been recalled for the switch...but that I had to wait until I received a recall letter. I was told it should arrive within 2 weeks. It has now been more than a month and still no letter. How you received your recall or is it taking more than a month for the letters to be mailed out?

I didn't have to bring in any letter. If the car has been in for the recall it would be documented in your vehicles history, if not than a Toyota dealer is obligated to replace the part or fix the issue. My dad's Tundra was in storage for three years when he was overseas, and he just now went in and got his recalls fixed at the dealer no questions asked. I'd check again or find another dealer.

I got a recall notice this summer for my dealer installed cruise control unit on my 08 sedan..
They took it out and gave me a check for $530,, never used the darn thing anyway

Was that ($530) the full amount the dealer charged you for it originally?
