Hey guys...

I've already looked up some similar threads, but non actually answers my question simply.

I want to buy new XXR 513's on my 09 Yaris hatch.

I actually want to have 15x7 in the front and 15x8 in the back with coilovers.
People tell me that when you do 15x8 in the back you'll have to roll out the fenders and such, but i really don't want to do that.

So is it better to do 15x7 all around? If so... whats the best ET i should get? Because it only says +15mm offset.

I hope anyone can give me alot of information about this, cause ive seen some people with the exact same wheels on a yari :D (i also pm'd them!)

Thank you

Since there are no other sizes for XXR513 other than 15x7 +15 offset and +0, +15 offset is the best size without rolling fenders. The edge of the wheel will protrude from the fender about 2-3mm in the rear and about 5mm-8mm in the front. If you run with 195/50/15 tires, the tire may rub on the rear fender.

15x8 +0 offset is too wide for the rear, fender roll required.

If it is available in your country, another option is from another wheel manufacturer - Rota. The ROTA RB, which has a similar design, has more offset options (+25, +35, etc).

How low are you planning on dropping the car? Are you going to run stretched tires? What look are you going for; almost flush, flush, poked?

Why are you scared to roll your fenders? Its rediculously easy and cheap. No one most likely will know you have done it.

There are too many variables to say one is better or worse and which one will work.

I am running 16x8 +12 right now and I almost never rub. I am running a 175/50 Yokohama s drive and have rolled and pulled fenders. But my subframe is 1" from the ground so it is deff possible to ride slammed with low offset wheels.

Here are pics showing my drop and my poke. Again almost no rubbing on all 4 corners. My frame/bumper rubs the ground all day though.

Thanks guys for the info.

Well i want to get the ''stanced'' look, I think thats same as flush, but i still want to keep a bit of space between the wheels and fenders, just so i can maybe still get some passangers in the back.

I want to drop it like 6/7cm probably and I want stretched wheels with a 45 height.

Yeah maybe I can roll out the fenders and such, have to find someone who can do that over here professionaly. Depends on how much money I can get in the future :D If thats the case then Ill probably get the 15x8 in the back!

I personally think that'll be the best looking part of it.

Should I also get a camber kit? if so, how much degrees?

"Stanced" can be flush or hella flush or poked.

With a gap between the fender/tire you will have what I can mexipoke. Basically the wheels will sit outside the fenders but without the drop to make it look proper.

2.5-3" (6-7cm) is a decent drop. What size tire width. 45 is a lot different height when you're talking a 165/45 compared to a 205/45. That should give the gap you are looking for though.

Rolling/pulling requires no professional skill. Take a baseball bat and heat gun and basically just smash the inner lip formed by the fender folding in.

No camber in the rear for me but I do run -1.25 degrees up front. That will help alleviate some rubbing.

Do you only like xxr's? Several wheel mfr's are offering 15x8 with 35mm offset which is obviously easier to fit than 15mm.. You can run more negative camber in the front by switching to OEM camber bolt and running washers in the rear

It requires SOME kind of skill though. I did mine at the track and got a lot of cracked paint. So there must be a "right and wrong" way to do it.

G-ammo, with the wheel you choose and without rolling your fender,I would do with the 15x7 all around +15 and use 175/45/15 if you can find them, I think you should be alright.

But if you choose the 8" with the +0 offset, you will definitely need to do a serious mods for a flush setting .

15x8 +0 is freaking hardcore...

Thank you guys very much! And by the looks of the 15x7 +10 in the pics, I think ill just get the 15x7 +15 all around. Then maybe I can drop some more and still prevent alot of rubbing and also to prevent future high costs!

This car is still my daily ride... making an average of 10.000/15.000KM a year.

And I do like some camber yes... my bro says they're called ''camber plates'', not sure if its the same as camber bolts though. I'll have to look that all up (or you guys can explain a bit to me :D)

Also a little question besides this: Im still not sure if I would get the XXR513 in gunmetal color.. or fully silver. My car has the exact same color as you yarisugi (silver blue).
Any suggestions? :)

camber plates are not used on our cars. They usually surround the top mount.

Our fronts use bolts and the rears would require shims.

Guys :P sorry for coming back again... can anyone please suggest which color rims i should pick? gunmetal or fully silver. Car = same color as yarisugi. Really can't decide... im like: 45% for gunmetal... 55 for silver :(

Oh yeah... Yarisugi, I can see that the 15x8 +20 are sticking out pretty far, does this mean that my 15x8 +0 will stick out even more... :O?

much appreciated!

alright guys haha:D I think I heard enough! 15x7 it is ;)

- FK Highsport coilovers
- XXR 513's 15x7 +15 probably with 195(or 185???)/45/15 stretched rubber shoes :3
- Camber kit(bolts & shims) from Micro Image ^^

Going to be awesome... hope I can get this all together in a few months guys!

Will post pics :D

you will probably not get a stretch on a 15x7 unless you grab a 165/45 or 175/50 and a 15" wheel runing those tires are gonna look like training wheels

G-Ammo
11-29-2012, 01:40 PM
Many people over here have that kinda stretch... probably considered way different from where you live... I can see alot of people here are running on alot of rubber: 55-65 height... you'll never see that over here! :)

yarisugi
11-29-2012, 01:53 PM
The tires in my reference pics are are all 175/50/15.
If you're looking for a stretched look, 1.5 is right that 195 or 185 will not "stretch" on a 15x7 wheel. 165/50/15 will look stretched, but I wouldn't recommend tire widths skinnier than your OEM widths.

11-29-2012, 02:22 PM
In europe, the cars are considerably downsized so you will see a lot more tire options out there in the 155-185 range. Way more than we get in the states. a 15x7 is a pretty thin wheel and the only tire that will look stretched is gonna be around 155-175mm wide.

Yes a lot of people will be running stretches on vw's peugots, bmw, citroens in europe but those cars are smaller than ours and it doest look as bad as it does on our cars.

Unfortunately our wheel wells and cars make tires of that size look like a strand of rope IMHO.

185/195 will not look stretched on a 7" wide wheel

the pics I posted on pg 1 show my rear setup which is an 8" wide wheel with a 175/50-16 on it and you can see it is not THAT much of a stretch so imagine a wheel that is 1" thinner but a tire that is 10-20mm wider. My tires are S drives so they may not stretch as much as some other 175/50/15s. Yokohama makes fatties.

Yes sorry... I just reread my post :) I still had the 15x8 in my mind.
True its either 165 or 175... I'm first going to save some more money and then Ill buy the rims/coilovers/bolts first... and THEN im going to look for the right tires :D thanks

11-29-2012, 03:38 PM
If you were to run a 15x8 you could go to like a +15 or +20 offset and run the 175/50 or 165/45 and that should give you enough room to clear the fenders, but that depends on how low you are

G-Ammo
11-29-2012, 07:02 PM
Yeah but the XXR wheels only got +0 on the 15x8... and I really want those wheels! Havent seen those wheels where I live, none whatsoever :D

Im going for 15x7 all around. I can always get some 10mm spacers in the back if i want. Running 30mm at the moment on 16x6 :)

I'm glad you aren't going 8 wide with 0 offset. I had that and it stuck out waayyy too much, especially if you want any kind of low. I got rid of my 522's when I lowered so i didn't have to deal with it...

Indeed Miles... I'm happy I didnt do it either... :D I can always put some spacers between em if i want to stick em a bit more to the outside ^^.

@wildmongoose
Nope! I was planning to do so.. but I found them herei n Holland on a site which has them (SAID THE SITE)... so yeah, I got a mail that they don't have it... neither did the supplier. Also my coilovers will be coming in January because they have to be made on order :) So you guys will be having some nice pics in January!

And maybe in a year or 2 a supercharger on my 1.0... :3
