hi guys,
I have a 6 cd stacker and funny enough it has started playing up 2 months after my 5 year warranty is up.:iono:
doesn't matter what cd i use, old, new or burnt they work then error-1 comes up.
I have to either eject the cd and re load it or move up a cd then move back down to listen to the cd.
anyone got any ideas?
thanks

Try running a cleaning CD in it.

I had the same thing happen after 3 years. I played with different ways to clean the mechanism and some of them worked for about one CD then Error 1 came back. I finally just gave up and bought a new Kenwood dash unit. It's a major improvement and wasn't really expensive. I go ona couple of really long trips a year and the improvement is definitely worth what I spent.

I got 07 Yaris and it happens to me 4 years ago. Purchase ex-warranty no use at all.
Dont believe those X-warranty. Its all rape off. When some thing happen to you, they will say you didnt do this.

Why are you people so down on CDs? Personally, I never had a single problem with any CD player I've had. However, I have had a g few MP3 players die.

BTW, yes, I also listen to MP3s in my Yaris at times and use the stock CD player with MP3s burned on a disk .
At my residence, I have a (Teac) CD player as well as a (SanDisc) MP3 player conected to my home system.

I also have a 6 cd stacker in my Yaris. I haven't had problems with it . . (I use burnt mp3 discs), so it is with interest that I read this thread.

So I will keep the lookout for that error, but so far I have not had problems.

I personally love the OEM cd player in the car .. it is working just fine and there is no reason to upgrade to anything else.

Dear all,

I am also getting this ERROR 1 whenever I put the DVD which have all MP3 songs. Apart from cleaning is anything else we can do or replacement is the only option?

Thank you,
Amit

A CD player can not read a DVD.

Why would you think a DVD would work in a CDPlayer?

+1. Use an MP3 CD not an MP3 DVD. By the looks of it Error1 might be saying "disc not readable"

Other than whats been posted by Scott, if its an indash stacker id say the stereo is bidding farewell slowly. Otherwise its the stacker (external) thats tryin to say it..."Hello Aux" if you want to continue using the stereo.
