Attempting to change spark plugs

What is the OEM spark plug number? Are they rebranded denso or NGK? Possibility an alternative for cheaper option then?

And do you pre-gap them before install since every manufacturer is made different than the gap for Yaris.

I went with NGK, pretty much happy about them. I had an issue with my Yaris when it went through the gears quite roughly, spark plugs change resolved the problem. By the way, it took me about 10 minutes to change it (first time ever), so save your money and do it by self:thumbsup:

I changed mine at 60K with NGK IFR5T11, did not gap. Very easy and quick. Use anti-seize on the threads and die-electric grease on the post. Car runs great.

FYI, YMMV, I found the price difference between the OEM plugs and the cheapest alternative I could find to be negligible. i don't use the word negligible lightly at all. As Steve Martin's character (George?) in Father of the Bride 2 stated when he didn't want to write Eugene Levy's character a check for $100,000 to cancel the sale of his house (and it was about to be struck by a wrecking ball) - 'You don't understand, I'm the cheapest man in the world'. I laughed because I'm in touch with that way of thinking.

Hello,
I am the tech manager at Autolite spark plugs. You will find our XP3924 Iridium spark plug a fine addition to your yaris. Faster starts, better fuel economy and 100k durability for less than the price of NGK or denso. Find them at Canadian Tire or Parts Source stores. They are gapped at .044 from the factory and can be installed as is.:thumbsup:

+1 I ran NGK iridiums on the yaris, and they worked great!

FWIW.......

My '02 Celica came stock with NGK plugs.
At abouit 50k miles, I replaced them with Denso plugs and there was absolutely no difference in performance.

on 4bangers i chance plugs every 80000km and notice a big difference in power delivery...

just changed it today at 120,000km.

plugs look completely normal, don't think they need replacing, they were also iridium from factory.
