Hi guys I have a 2012 yaris SE and I want to put an axleback on it. I was looking at the axleback on my yaris and it looks so similar to the one in the 2011. I was wondering if anyone knew if the TRD muffler for the 2011 can fit the axleback in my 2012. The thing is if I order it and doesnt fit I am stuck with it. Thanx guys

http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?p=651442 According to this thread guys it says that it will fit!! Now the only thing I need is the height and wide off the tip of the trd exhaust muffler to see if it fits the diffuser of my SE. Thanks in advance for the measurements!!

I have the '11 TRD axle back on my '12 SE, it does fit but the tip is about 2" lower than normal. It looks low, but sounds and fits well. The outlet is centered in the stock diffuser cutout.
I would really like to try the Tanabe Touring Medalion..

It's for sale for $200 :)
Have the carton, packing and hardware, as new. Has about 1,000 miles and three months use. Love it, just doing a full sound quality install so the fun exhaust has to go..

My only concern is the centering of the exit versus the cutout in the faux diffuser. Tanabe say that the test car they had was an L model as confirmed by the pics they posted on the website.
Ive been in contact with Tanabe and I'm trying to get them to send me a Touring Medalion to test its fitment.
We'll see!

What do you mean by axleback ?...corect me if i'm wrong but you mean just the back part, muffler and tip only ?...i have heard "catback" catalitic converter back...and some of the guys said that 2011 fits 2012,good to know since our LE is an '12 but when times comes ...i kinda like Borla stuff, but that's just me.
Thanks
Dan

Ok guys I posted the same thing in the performance forum and here is the link for all of you who are wondering what did I do? Well tomorrow I should have my axleback and hopefully installed if not then on tuesday...and for the question about the axleback...the axleback means that in the exhaust there is a conector in the axle in the back of the car, meaning you can change the muffler part from the axle in the rear to the back. I hope you understood what I am trying to say...

Thanks for the pics BamBam, so what part "didn't fit"? Or were you talking about the large gap in the last picture?

That is the same gap mine has. The clocking on his is off as well, the extra hangar that came with the kit was likely not on when the pic was taken. I had the same crooked tip until the extra hangar was fitted.

I really dont know what it was, the axleback was bolted and in the two oem hangers...maybe it was the one that i didnt put the extra one or maybe the curve on the pipe, but it was getting dark and I had a long way home so I decided to wait untill tomorrow. When I get to the muffler shop I will put some pics of what they did!!

Looks like you dont need the middle hanger.
Is it hitting the chassis, keeping the rear hanger from pulling up properly??

The 2012, and 2011 have different part number for the OEM muffler, makes sense why it doesnt fit correctly.
2012 Muffler 1743021791
2011 Muffler 1743021502

If you cut all the hooks and make new ones like I did and connect the exhaust in the oem pipe ( no soldering or anything just bolted into the factory pipe) the exhaust is going to sit a little hidden like mine...maybe later I will fix that for now mine is gonna stay like that sounds AWESOME, and if you are willing to pay and customise the hooks...then I recommend it!! Again it sounds AWESOME!!!
