when i turn on the ignition both rev counter and speedo go right up and clock resets itself have been to toyota they have no idea with it being an import and ideas what it could be thanks :thumbsup:

Its happened to me before on other cars/trucks ive owned.
Have them check the charging system, each time it was a low or going dead battery.

Then look in the fuse/relay box and see if there's a 15A dome fuse installed next to a 7.5A ECU-B fuse. If the 15A fuse isn't there that's your problem. Just take the 15A fuse from the spares (there should be 4) and install it in place.
The 15A fuse is supposed to be installed during the dealership's PDI and it's left out to avoid excessive parasitic drag.
If the fuse is there then you know it's something within that circuit. something that bothers me though is that your calling your car a Vitz meaning it's not a US vehicle meaning my advice is probably useless. If it is, I'll just STFU now ^_^ hope you get it fixed though.

have the ignition switch relay checked/changed :wink: could also check speedometer connector on transmission for loose connection

went to another toyota agents they checked all fuse etc . could not find out why it does it ,said poss loose connection somewhere inthe main wire of the car : so the saga continues :laugh:
