I currently change the oil in my 2010 Yaris twice a year, but I think I can do better. My Yaris was purchased new in January 2010 and it currently has 22,820 miles on it. Yes, I average 7000 to 8000 miles per year.

My question is this, can I switch to Mobil One Synthetic and change the oil only once a year.

Where can I find an interval recommendation for synthetic motors oils for the Toyota Yaris?

Usually motor oil manufacturers will have listed their recommendations for their specific oils. I am pretty sure Amsoil has a synthetic that will do the 10K thing. At present, as I do less than 5K per year I change once per year. Maybe twice if I have nothing to do and my stop and go gets excessive.

I use Mobil1 and change every 10,000kms/7500 miles, in 45 years of driving various automobiles i've never had an oil related engine problem.

Yes you can, but I'd change the itty bitty filter twice per year, and top off.

$27. per 5 qt jug at Walmart.

Why right in your owners manual. It says change it every 6 months or 6000 miles which ever comes first.

Regular or synthetic.

You wouldnt go against the owners manual, would you?:iono:

^ Every 6 months or 5,000 miles to keep warranty . " Use Shell synthetic 5w-20 for cold months and their 5w-30 for warmer weather . Get it for under $3.40 a quart from BJs Wholesale .
