View Full Version : HELP. yaris drivers electric window not working

hello everyone when i went to put my window down yesterday it didnt work but i can hear the sound of the motor working it just sounds like the motor is not attached to the window anymore because i can move the window roughly up and down with my hands, has any body had this problem before help if u can please, toyota yaris, 3 door, 2000 model

Sounds like something broke either within the gearbox of the window motor assembly or within the regulator assembly that the motor drives. You'll have to remove the door panel to get a look at what is and is not moving.

I received a recall notice the other day. Some 2008 Yarises have faulty window switches. If your car is a 2008 you might contact a dealership and have it checked out. The window motor on the passenger door of my car has started making more noise. The dealer recommended that I bring the car in when it finally gives up.

His is a 2000, and they symptoms do not at all point to the switch.
