Hey there,
new to this forum..
but I was at a car audio shop today, and they told me I can only get single din in my 2009 yaris sedan?:iono:
I also have an iPhone 5 and am quite fond of Alpine decks, but am open to Pioneer decks.
I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions for decks to buy and how the iPhone 5 connectivity would work.
I'm guessing it would constantly be connected through Bluetooth.
OR if anybody has installed a double din successfully and had any pointers or sizing of the unit.
Thanks,
Danielle:smile:

Best bang for the buck for a single din is pioneer 80prs. Check the review on crutchfield.

Take a look at the threat that shows pics of the source units (head unit eye candy). That'll give you a good indication of what can be done.

Don't jump too quickly on this. Do your research.

Hi Danielle. A double-din in your Yaris Sedan will fit without issue. As far as Pioneer and iphone 5, click the link https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/282886_10151184894630919_964322730_n.jpg

I actually just installed a double din JVC unit in my 2008 Yaris sedan. It fit fine, except that there are 1 inch gaps on the left and right sides of the unit. Here's a picture:

But I ordered this guy: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/380539016189.
Looks like it should fit and it was only $9.00.

Yeh not a problem, those spaces are easily sorted. All of the information can be found on this forum. This is a great resource, helped me out a tonne.

Not any more! I have an 80 and a 99, and I just tossed a 5500 in my Yaris, because I wanted HD Radio for cheap. This thing cost me $110. shipped, it has a Killer tuner(AM and FM). I pulled the hard drive out of my land cruiser(from my PRS80), plugged it into the 5500, and it played fine.

I'm shocked Pioneer can make such a quality HU for around $100.:w00t:

only problem I have with this unit is the USB is on the front! And it wont read a flash drive. My prs80 has only rear USB and it will read a flash drive!
