Hawk hps vs Green Stuff brake pads

Hey all,
Anyone have experience with either of these brake pads? I plan on using my stock rotors..Thanks in advance

I found Green's dusty on another car, but it wasn't particularily hard to wash off.
Both will be fine for street use.

This is and old post but:

I tested green stuff pads on my Mustang Mach1 after a BMW guy recommended that brand back in 04 probably.

And although the braking was mildly improved compared to the stock pads they were very very dusty.

I exchanged several emails with EBC regarding this issue and believe it or not they tried to tell me that they were "a very low dust pads" and my pics never showed excessive dust on the wheels. :iono:

If they have changed the formula, or their CS manners I don't know, I never went back for seconds.

Well, like Viperoni said, it wasn't hard to clean really.

And after so many years the formula may have been changed.

My point was if dusty pads bother you, maybe ask around before buying.

Installed EBC Green Stuff last summer, they're still dusty. No idea how the Hawk HPS' are...

I talked extensively with Micro Image about pads as I am getting some shortly. Hawk is the way I am going because they provide improved breaking over street and are no more dusty.

I have used both....The ebc were very dusty...and braking was improved over stock...the Hawks are slightly dusty and huge braking differance over the EBC...but on cold mornings the hawks grip like shit till they heat up...maybe the first two or three stoplights they feel like there is not much gripping...after that they grip well.

I will sell Green Stuff if a customer insists, but in nearly every way, the Hawk pads are better.

Our OEM pads are made by Akebono which already in itself is a very good quality pad for oem, most aftermarket wont give significant improvements especially not on normal street, short trip while brakes are still cold. You will get better bang for your buck switching to steel braided brake lines over new brake pads.

I really like the Hawk pads, I ran the HP-Plus front and HPS rear on my 4 wheel disc Celica, as per Hawk's recommendations, worked great. I'm planning to run the HPS pads on the Yaris with R1 slotted rotors and SS brake lines for auto-x in STF. If you have issues with the Hawk's when cold, try dragging them a bit with your left foot will still gassing with your right. I always did this for Practice/Qualifying sessions with great results, it works on the street too, just be carefull until you get comfortable braking with the left foot.
