This looks pretty good: http://www.tarad.com/automirror/product.detail.php?lang=en&cat=97219&id=577652
It is sold in Thailand under the 'Sakura' brand. The guy wants $60 US to ship here.
Perhaps a group buy? - ship one large package to the US and break up into individual orders?
Anyone interested?
(There is a chrome item on eBay that I bought and had custom painted before finding out that the clip system is wrong. Don't buy them!)

the installation instruction on this thing sound so easy? is it that easy? just remove the old one, and put the new one back in?
do we have to wire all the new wires to the head light? and signal lights?

There are some cheap eBay stick on covers. These replace the stock cover.
Like I said, I ordered the chrome ones off eBay and they were wrong. I had a major hassle getting a partial refund because I'd already painted them so I was out some change. I corresponded with the member who got a set off eBay that he repainted. His fit but were no longer on eBay.
I like these because they wrap around the side like the mercedes covers. The only others I've seen are only visible from the front.

These are actually the same as the ones on that baby blue C-ONE Vitz.
The other Ebay ones are way cheesier. These have more of a light beam look to them, whereas the others you can clearly see the individual bulbs.
I'd be all over this like white on rice if that price dropped a tad. Should for a group buy.

I think some may be confused on the price - $60 US is the shipping charge alone. The item is something like $78 and change.
I'm hoping to share the shipping charges to the US with a group, split the order up and reship it to individual addresses here.
No way will it be near $50 shipped but we might be able to get it closer to $100.

I'm interested and down! If everyone is cool with it you can ship them to me and I"ll ship them back out to everyone if everyone is down! Something this small should be cheap to send back out priority to everyone. These come prepainted yes?
I'm interested, but I was more interested when I thought $60 was the price with shipping, not the price of the shipping. Whehter I actually buy will depend on final price, but it's definitely something I'd like to have.

These are the available colors:
1. Platinum Metallic ( 1DO )
2. Black Mica ( 209 )
3. Mercury Silver ( 1F8 )
4. Aqua Blue ( 8S9 )
5. Pacific Blue ( 8N8 )
6. Tropical Orange ( 4S3 )
7. Alpha Red ( 3PO )
The color names don't correspond to our NA names, but I know the Mercury Silver is our Meteorite Metallic. Check your paint code on your door pillar to make sure you can get a match.
His price for one is $78.95. Shipping for one piece is $60. Lets assume that shipping for 10 pieces would be $100. Reshipping in the US could be done for about $10 via US Priority Mail so we'd be at about $100 each with 10 people. His first email to me requested Western Union payment. I asked about PayPal as that's cheaper and safer.
Let's see if we can make this work.

Is this the originl OEM style replacement cover for the mirror, or one that just sticks on top? The add-on one is real ugly, guys, keep that in mind, as it makes the front of the mirror assembly stick out a lot! Ask for a profile shot of the whole thing if possible.

Can one of our Thai members post your paint codes?
The seller for the Sakura mirror cover got back to me. The price per unit goes down a little for 5 pieces and quite a bit for 10. It would be $111.43 each for 5 and $87.48 for 10 shipped to one address in the US. On top of that, we'd still have wire transfer fees to pay the seller (he doesn't have a PayPal account) and reshipping to individual Nort American addresses.
If we can get 10 or more, that would be great.

I think it's safe to assume we could get 10, so we're talking about $100 each +- after all costs.
I'd like to find out about the OEM part first.
I'm perfectly willing to serve as a conduit for PayPal payments, placing the order and reshipping to various North American addresses. Several people here can vouch for my integrity and I have a perfect eBay rating (http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=rjenkie1dw4&myWorld=true).
I am a little concerned that the seller doesn't have a PayPal account. I want to find out more about what kind of protection there is when paying via Western Union wire transfer for international orders.
I really don't want to be in a situation where I collect money, place an order and if something goes wrong, people look to me to make them whole.

OK guys, finally got something substantial to update you with.
Toyota dealerships don't really sell these as they are not part of the accessories catalog. I did manage to get a quote for the OEM ones through an aftermarket shop, but they're looking at around US$450 for the pair, and probably no less than $375 if we do a group buy for 10 pairs. So I'd say, scratch that.
The dealership did tell me that they often upgrade the mirror covers on customer cars, but using aftermarket covers. These are not the stick-on type, they are the replacements for the stock covers. They're not the "Sakura" ones that are pictured earlier in this thread, and I'm not quite sure they are the same as the other ebay ones posted before:
http://www.etimago.com/yaris/mirror1.jpg
http://www.etimago.com/yaris/mirror2.jpg
Anyway the dealership is asking for 4000B for the pair, that's about $117 at current exchange rates.
These are recommended by Toyota, but I'm quite sure I could find the same ones cheaper elsewhere. So, the search continues

Color-wise, they should be able to get all the ones that are available locally. But, there are some colors offered in other countries which are not available here for the Yaris, such as the bayou blue.
It is quite possible that the shop that paints these has the paint colors in stock, though, so I will need the paint code for:
Bayou Blue Metallic - 8T1
Copper Orange Mica (Canada)
Jade Sea Metallic (Sedan) - 777
Flint Mica (Sedan) - E10
Nautical Blue Metallic (Sedan) - 8S6
Edit - I found most of the paint codes, but just need a Canuck to confirm the copper orange mica

Hey guys, I was just surfing on japanparts.com and found the Mirrors I beleive we are all looking for. I got quoted $373.10 shipped to my house and painted Blazing Blue Metallic! I thought that Blazing Blue Metallic wasn't available in japan? The picture shows that the lenses are orange but maybe that when it is only when it is lit up? What do you guys think? Will it be directly plug and play? I'm thinking bout picking these up! The price isn't too bad at all being shipped to to the US! Maybe this will be the way to go!

So does that mean that the turnsignal lenses are clear then?

BTY, they won't be a plug/play. It should be to hard to wire, I think the running of the wires will be most difficult. But good find man.

I think the japanparts are whole mirrors, aren't they?
More than I'm willing to spend. I like $117 plus shipping much better.

Yeah a lot of paint codes won't match. Black, meteorite metallic, blazing blue and absolute red should be OK, apart from those, no guarantee.
Even if the paint codes match, there's no guarantee that the actual paint itself will be a match, so I would strongly suggest buying them unpainted if possible and getting them painted when you get them.

I can't be sure yet, but the wiring should just be a matter of splicing to the wires of the side repeaters.

is it bettehr to have them painted localy...if you get it already painted woulnd't be a miscolor match? sun...rain..bird poop..etc?:iono:

Yes, it is even possible that the actual shade of paint for a matching color code is not exactly the same between the two countries. I had a friend have this problem with BMW parts imported from Germany, so it is quite a possibility...

Thomas, I agree with you. I was looking and you could fish the wires down the quarter. Also I went to a shop today and asked and they will paint for $35. It maybe the way to go

That's a stick on model. This one does not fit: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyot...c mdZViewItem (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyota-Yaris-Vitz-Chrome-Mirror-Cover-LED-Light-RS-TRD_W0QQitemZ150106586212QQcategoryZ33654QQrdZ1QQc mdZViewItem)
Stock cover is on the bottom, eBay item is on top (seller=vr510v). Note that the OEM attaches with clips, not one (misplaced) clip and three screws. Don't waste your money.
Wish i had seen this thread prior to purchasing this same item from the same seller on Ebay (vr510v)...Ive had to file a PayPal claim against him. This seller is a liar and threatens anyone who dares to want a refund.
ATTN: Yarisworld members DO NOT purchase anything from seller Vr510v ON EBAY!!! His product is crap, as Violin said, and he knows it
See below my exchange with him on PayPal:

Buyer escalated this dispute to a Claim.

Read this ebay seller response to me. This seller is not legitimate and provides no customer service whatsoever. I demand a full refund against this seller for this transaction.

What YARIS you've got? It fits YARIS HATCH only and it's listed in our listing. Dont try to cheat us and we will leave negative and report ebay and paypal as fraud.

The Toyota Yaris LED mirror cover replacements advertised by this seller do not fit the factory mirrors. The seller says no refund because he has 'pictures' of it installed on the car. This is the second Toyota Yaris part that I have purchased from this seller that did not fit as advertised. I have filed negative ratings for both items on Ebay regarding these purchases with no feedback received from the seller regarding a refund or anything to satisfy his customer (me). The only acceptable outcome to me is a full refund of this purchase.

No they dont. Same item as Violin and I (and who knows who else) purchased. The mirror cover is held on by three U-shaped clips (not screws like these show).
I dont know who made the molds for these but someone was on crack. The only way I can make these fit is with duct tape and that kinda ruins the reflection.

Mr. Watcharanon Roeksirirat emailed me to let me know they now take PayPal for the Sakura LED mirror cover if anyone is interested. Be advised that the clips are wrong for the North American Yaris but they can be cut off and the mirror affixed with silicone (see DIY).
