[1] Sand the whole thing down
[2] Tape off the VVT-I lettering
[3] Hit it with adhesion promotor
[4] Primer it
[5] High-temp paint black
[6] Tape everything but the lettering
[7] Repeat steps 3-5, but paint red

Do it all in a 70ish degree area free of dust and excessive humidity and you'll never have to do it again... but for the love of pete, never put that cover you have now on your car.

Is that another suggestion for a project for this weekend?

Good luck jamal. I hear you... sometimes it takes a couple tries to get it right.

HELL NO! I'm not dealing with that until its nice and warm out. Actually, plan is to rip all the plastics off and do them the same way, with high temp paint and clearcoat. B pillars, side mirror trim, trim by the wipers, front and rear badges, and maybe even the grilles. It'll make it look CLEAN, and that is the goal of course.
