Over the next few months, I'll be using a specialized relocation kit to take the individual horns off the original manifold to fit them into the same area that I have the current Buell four horn setup.

I'm upgrading the air lines, electric valve and tank. I'll be fitting 1/2" lines from a 5 gallon tank that. This upgrades from the 2 1/2 gallon tank with 3/8" main line I have now.

I'll be upgrading this thread with pics of the build.

What you're seeing is a CNC aluminum manifold that reroutes the air that would normally go into the stock Nathan manifold. The three steel pieces behind the manifold will mount onto the three Airchime horns.

The air lines will be 1/2" from the tank all the way to the horns. This is a massive upgrade in volume potential from what is run now; 3/8" from the tank to the manifold...then 1/4" to the current horns. The tank will be twice as large in capacity over my current piece. That is needed for the amount of air that the K3LA can put out.

I've already upgraded the compressor so fill time will be reduced over the old compressor.

"Need"? Yes. It is an integral part of my alarm system. I can guarantee that if someone breaks into the car, I will know. I'm simply protecting my investment from thieves. :D

The real reason I purchased the horn setup was to wake people up. Several years ago I was run off the road by a truck whose driver wasn't paying any attention. The stock horn didn't work well enough to wake him up over the sound of his own engine.

This...if this doesn't wake you up you're already dead...

I say that because not only is it loud. And let's say you are deaf, but at close ranges it also has serious pressure it puts out. You can actually feel the horn blasts.

Now, revisiting the "need" part. Does on truly NEED something like this? No. I just choose not to be a victim of other driver's stupidity, carelessness and apathy.

This will also save lives as well. The moment I ever have a road rage incident, and the other party wants to exit their vehicle...they'll get this instead of a laser from a S&W 40 Tactical with CTC grips painted on their melon...I'd rather not have to explain the latter option.

It is for both public safety and personal protection. I use the current horn regularly, at least once a week, for good reasons. For example, on Thursday, I had some soccer mom decide she wanted to be in my lane and didn't even think about looking over her shoulder before she turned into the lane I was in. Did I freak? Nope. I just let her know I was there.

People said that same thing when I put those two surfboard amplifiers in the trunk of the car...and made it to IASCA world SQ finals. I've been hearing all knids of negatives from people about what I've been trying to do over the years. Actually, my whole soundsystem start was because some rube on the YW forums (from my area) told me I couldn't make a Yaris sound good. He ate his words with secret sauce and hasn't been seen from since on here. I still see negativity and I just feed off it and move forward.

The whole thing is just another level to take modification to the vehicle. I need to look at rims but...I'd really rather have an airbag system on the car first.

This all depends on my deployment to Afghanistan. If it goes forward, I'll be putting the Yaris on pause and playing with old American muscle instead.

@ KAR98 - The horns will be arranged in generally the same manner as the current airhorn setup. The brunt of the SPL will be felt by the concrete which, in turn, will spread the sound more completely versus simply firing it off in the air...not that a train horn NEEDS to be coupled with anything to be loud. This is simply, for lack of a better term, horn loading the sound off the concrete for better sonic spread.

Kar - I know you weren't hating. You'd sound more like post #3 if you were. If you're looking for a small horn setup, look at the Hella electric horn setups available.

Seriously though, that's a 5 gallon, eight 1/2" inlet tank. I'll be redoing the entire trunk setup to optimize the use of the trunk for this and the compressor. The amplifiers are going to go back "up" on a 45 degree panel that will butt up against that back plate I have in the trunk already. I'll be fitting that amplifier panel in over the current layout once the tank and compressor is in. That new panel will give me a space in between the two panels for wiring runs on the three new amplifiers. The valve is a nickel plated brass piece with a 12 Volt relay to wire directly into the OEM horn switch like I have now with the smaller kit.

Just for longevity's sake, I'll be working with a silica dehumidifier pack in the trunk seeing as I don't have a lot between the panels and the MDF.

These horns rock the concrete! Now, I have to make or find a custom grill. I was able to keep the stock manifold BUT...it looks hokie. I had to take the grill off of the front to aim it like I wanted.

I forgot that I had upgraded to 1/2" main from the old tank already, so there was no need to run any line. The hardest part of this whole deal was to place the horns.

I think the laughter after the truck's horn says it all. The recording phone's mic can't begin to give you the "feel" of the horns. We had a complaint from the auto repair shop next door. They said something to the effect of, "you're shaking our walls with that damned horn!"

Now, I have to get the horns powder coated flat black and fit in a 2008 front grill and/or take out the OEM plastic "mesh". The air fitting is 1/4" too high to fit the OEM grill back on there. I've got a whole new trunk to construct. Three class D amps going in and a brand new processor...the factory programmer and I are talking and it seems that I'll be what is basically a beta tester for this piece. Oh yeah, all new 3 way speakers as well.

...I'll make it work...
