If you can't see it, the are 15x7.5 +32. If it works, what tire size should i use? I want something beefier than what i have now. Like will 215/55 or 50s work? I'm about to be on tanabes df lowering springs

Holy shit. 215/55 is a massive tire. I'm sure you would rub if dropped.

I just want beefy, may not go that big, i'd just like to know if these rims would. I don't want to buy them and not be able to run them

You'll definitely rub with 215/55/15 tires. I think with those spec rims, you'll be ~6mm away from the rear fender and a few mm way from the front fender. DF's drop the car low for springs, so unless you roll your fenders and also trim your front fender liners, you'll rub. It'll be even worse with OEM dampers.

This was my car with 17x7.5, with an effective offset of +28 (in the rear), and 205/40/17 tires (more like 215/40/17 at least since I think those specific tires ran much wider than their spec'd at). No fender roll, on Tein S.Tech springs and TRD dampers. Had a total of 4 people in my car with no more than 3 miles of driving, and this happened (was actually flagged down by a motorist saying my tires were smoking).

215/50/15 tires will have the same overall diameter as 205/40/17 tires. Those wheels will be ~4mm inward from the rims I pictured. If you really want chunky tires, get 215/50/15 and roll your fenders and trim your fender liner.

Same rims. Front view (remember, no spacers in the front in these pics, so it's 17x7.5, ET38; 205/40/17 tires that are more like 215/40). The rims you want will stick out another 3mm.

Rear (17x7.5, effective offset of +28, same tires as mentioned). As mentioned, the rims you want will stick in 4mm compared to these.

I have 205/45/16s now, will i rub bad with the tanabe dfs?

These were 16x7, ET40 (30 effectively in the rear) with 205/45/16 tires. I don't recall ever having any rubbing issues with my suspension set up. If I did, it was probably just the fender liner up front on large freeway dips. Also remember, I rolled my rear fenders.

Your rear will be more outward by 4mm in the rear, and 14mm up front. Try it out, and if you have any major rubbing (actual tire to fender, not tire to fender liner), just roll your fenders. If it's just the fender liner, let it rub for a while, enough so that it makes an impression on the liners. When you see a clear area of where the tire is rubbing, just cut out the area of the liner.

Oh, sorry. Rolling fenders means rolling the lip extension portion of the fender up to the fender. Look at my tire rubbing pic I posted. The lip portion is where the tires were rubbing and collecting on. That horizontal portion is literally rolled (using a fender roller, or if you wanna go cheap like I did, an aluminum pole, all rolling methods use a heat gun) to sit flush with the "vertical" part of the fender.

Definitely shouldn't rub on those unless you're low enough for the car to sit on the tires :laugh:

You should be able to use the chunky monkey tires you want with those.
