Well it damn well better!

The car I drove onto the lot when I bought my Yaris was a 1988 Honda Accord LXI with 245'000+ miles on it.

I can easily see myself owning my Yaris for 10-15-20 years.

A car is a tool for for me nothing more, nothing less. Has to be safe, reliable, and economical. PERIOD.

Beyond that.......................................

I do enjoy driving this car though. I'll say it again, if those guys at that first dealership weren't ......................well I would be driving a Carmine Red MT.

I really wanted the MT.

So maybe it's not just a tool after all.

Yea, that was my favorite line as well.....and one of the reasons I wanted hand crank windows.

Sold me echo HB with 250,000kms on it because I was concerned it's days were starting to become limited. Wish I hadn't!! Anyways, my Yaris HB has done 80,000kms in just less than 2 yrs and it will be kept for at least another 5 by my reckoning though not as a daily driver, a winter car.

Noone can go wrong with the 1st and 2nd gen echo/yaris (can't comment on the 3rd gen as I haven't owned one!)

I've modded the Yaris, upgraded springs, shocks/struts/ rr sway and better rims and tires and its a great fun car, i had a blast at the dragon and taking it down the blue ridge last year.

The informed and educated do research and make a purchase reflecting thier work. The lazy and gullable go to Consumer Reports and get misinformed, filtered information. . Kinda like getting the rest of the story, or even any story that puts Obama in a negative way from MSNBC,,,it's true....

Yes, count me in the group who agrees to the above. I prefer a simple car for my simple needs.

It is almost impossible to find a car with hand-crank windows these days.

It's not Slow or simple. Power to weight ratio is good(not fast but not slow).

The ECU is very advanced(anything but simple), but the car on a whole does appear simple.:thumbsup:

Well the ECU is one thing. However, compared to a lot of new cars on the market, the Yaris is quite simple.

No funky torque-vectoring stuff; no ABS-controlled LSD-like devices; no magnetic suspensions jazz; there aren't 100 buttons on the dashboard; no adaptive cruise control or blind spot detection.

Compared tom some vehicles, the Yaris is simple, and that's one reason I love it.
