Noticed a couple of threads in classified of people parting their Yaris due to a pending FRS/GT86/BRZ arrival... I'm one of them, I pick up my my BRZ Sport Tech on Thursday. Keeping my Yaris though for a winter car.

Nice man! I wish I could afford an 86. Sadly it lives only in my dreams. Pics when you get it!

Looking to get into an FR-S at the end of the year, but I wish they offered a real white instead of puke white.

dealership had three we looked at while getting repairs done to the yaris. unfortunately, all had options(ie. leather seats) and were just shy of $30k. sexy as hell though!

Nice car, but the Scion mentality, you need to spend 30% of the car's value to mod it properly!!

I think the op is talking about me :)

Yup , hit a deer on my Yaris. Been owning the car for a little while and now is a good time to change . I test drive the frs and sold .... Will get the car by the end of the month with the 5axis kits on .

Reason for me to get the frs is because is cheaper than its twin, and I'll be mod the heck out of it , I even already have a wheel set waiting in the basement before the car :)

Not my car , but it'll be the same color and bodykits and 19" work equips

Well we can get those trd kits ,headlights and fogs thru an frs vendor , but they're about $2kfor the kit , $2K for the headlights and $700 for the fogs.

I'll be taking delivery of the car in raven, end of this month .

Picked it up today..

Had dealer install Eibach pro-kit and my Wheels prior to delivery. Still need to install the plate relocate on the front.
Not much for mods planned, hopefully a Borla exhaust if I can save the pennies.

That looks like it has a front lip different from the FRS. Is that a subaru only fascia?

From all of the big car magazines and professional testers/drivers...the car is considered one of the best handling cars that you can currently buy...from ANY manufacturer.

This car is what sex on wheels looks like

i found the exact opposite.

Have you ever driven a 5.0L mustang (2009) or even a SRT8 Challanger or even a Ford Ranger RWD?

why?

he means he doesn't know how to drive.

Seriously though, oversteer. The car was designed not to be another flaky under steering piece of garbage. So some people who aren't use to cars with actual good suspensions won't like it. It is also why it took about a day for the first one to be crashed by some former honda owning loser.

Why are they releasing so many "different" versions of the same looking car? It's kinda bizarre...unless I'm missing something and they are in fact different.

What the heck does "mod it properly" mean? You could say that about any car. The BRZ/FR-S is super fun to drive and fast on the track, 100% stock. I've driven both transmissions, and Jeff's car is really fast at the track.

Sorry, theyre wrong, these cars are loosest RWDs I have ever driven.

With the stock tires, right? That's intentional from the factory.

Two versions, one for each company that participated in the joint venture. For a slightly higher price, the BRZ comes with navi, HID/LED, and a few trim differences. Makes perfect sense to me.

they intended for people to be able to drift it, basically putting a smile on your face while you go sideways.

I thought there was the Toyota, a Scion, and a Subaru version?

Scion is a division of Toyota, in Japan it's a Toyota, they don't have Scion there. There are only two companies partnering on the car.

Same as the Yaris (Netz in Japan), the xB, and some other cars too.

Got it, makes more sense now...

Does that mean we only get the Toyota if we import it?

it is the same thing as the scion, we just have to change out the badges to be the toyota version.

SKurj

The toyota version comes in different trim levels as well, depending on the country. Where the subaru is the higher trim level in North America, I think in many markets the Toyota and Subaru offer identical trim levels.

On trim levels alone it would make more sense for you guys to get the Subaru BRZ...Scion seems to be the lowest grade out of all three.

vten
03-24-2013, 10:32 AM
I believe the scion has the lowest selling price ,not the grade... that means more $$ for the mods, because I don't think ppl that bought these car, will drive around stock everything :P

why?

you might be surprised. There are enough people out there that would never mod a car. Enough so that in two years we'll be able to find enough to get some decent prices on secondhand ones.

Nissan dealer here was selling new 370z for 28k which would basically rape the frs
