So I in order to get some extra seat time, and to get acquainted with my new race seat, I went on a trackday at Chuckwalla. It was the first time I'd ever been on that track, and so far its probably my favorite. You don't hit great speeds but you can hold some intense cornering forces and pass the more powerful cars on the inside.

One thing that was a continual annoyance was my Z2 tires were unbelievably twitchy at the limit, but they held the heat relatively well and wore like iron.

Overall I can't stand the gearing on this transmission, 3rd gear is way too long, I could have been killing people on the straights if I could only get it deep into the powerband sooo frustrating.

Got to pass quite a few interesting cars along with getting passed by a few interesting cars :bellyroll: Had some incidents with a few NASA Spec 7s but overall was a great experience.

BTW Thanks for the tip on the seat Jason, pulling the center foam worked like a charm.

Heres a video of me chasing down and passing a modded FRS

Don't know what it is about Toyota gearboxes, but 3rd gear is always funky. My '87 Celica GTS has the same problem, I get killed leading on to straights using 3rd even with a 4.18 final drive!

Yeah I just couldn't power out of corners, started taking a super tight line just to cut distance down, not sure if it was the right more or not but it sure felt like it from the seat.
