Hello, I got a P0010 code right after I tightened the S belt. I guess I broke the VVT connector according to other post I've read. Is this part easy to replace? If so How do I do it. Any help would be great. Thanks

It is very easy to replace. There is just one bolt that mounts it to the side of the block.

OK, Do I need to worry about placement or adjustment or is it a straight forward remove and replace.. I will try to remove it in the morning, Thanks

The only thing you need to do while installing it is to coat the o-ring with oil. You don't have to worry about positioning it.

The connector is right above the alternator, I used a small crowbar as leverage to pull back the alternator as I tightened the bolt on the alternator and the connector is right there so be very careful not to slip.

It seems like 7/10 break this way...

I was able to remove it easily and inspect it. YUP I broke the connector to the solenoid coil. I've been driving it for a couple of weeks this way and I don't notice any difference at all. What exactly does this vvt do and am I hurting the engine any by driving it? I bought one off of ebay because its way too expensive from a dealer and I could not find it at any local auto parts store. I should get it in a couple of days.

Alter the valve timing. I have no idea if it would hurt the engine or not if the VVT is disabled. Perhaps it affects mileage either better or worse?

If its better without and it doesnt hurt anything we've got another mod!

Thats a good picture bronsin, It's right there. Yeah, I don't notice any difference in performance or mileage but there is that pesky "Check Engine" light on all the time so
I will need to replace it.

Does anyone know if it hurts the engine or not to drive without the VVT and the CEL on? :iono:

Im thinking in the future if mine ever goes and it does no harm I'll just drive it!:headbang:
