Hey guys,
My echo only came with 2 dash mounted speakers, no speakers in the doors. I really want to put some in the doors but there's no place where I could run wires into them because there are no wires going in the door. Most cars have a plastic/rubber hose thing where wires run through, but I don't! How could I run wires in my door?

Take pictures. May have a plug there. Also take a pic of your doors

I have just found the factory hole for the wires. I think I'll be alright from here. But to you know if you can buy that plastic/rubber hose that covers the wires in between the door and the car?

I had a similiar situation. My Base model Yaris didn't come with a Radio. But it came with all the wiring and even Factory speakers.

You plan on replacing your Radio ?

Yes, I will definitely change my radio. I do have 2 dash speakers that I plan on changing as well.

K that makes it easier using a radio harness.

Where you from ? Making sure you're in the US.

Limited access to parts. Unless you order off ebay

I will probably order online, so shouldn't be that much of a problem

Alright yeah I think that's it. Thanks. Do you know if there's a thread that explains how to get power to your new speakers? I've been looking everywhere and I can't figure it out

K lets start over.

Do you have a new headunit already or are you looking for one ?

Do you have Replacement speakers or you looking ?

Lets start there first. Are you willing to add an amp ? And bring your speakers to life.

4 inch speakers on the Dash

Hopefully 6.5 inch speaker holes on the doors. Won't know till you remove them.

I haven't bought anything yet. As for the amp, if its not necessary I'd like to skip adding one

oh and I don't need top-of-the-line stuff either. Anything is better than my stock setup

Do you need an amp? No. It will however make your speakers sound ten times better.

Is it going to be easy to install an Amp ? INstalling an amp is like riding a bike. It'll be difficult at first but after that it gets easier.

Okay let me know where you want to start and i can make suggestions. IN the end it'll be 100 percent your decision.

Headunit : Budget and what features. (bluetooth, usb, 3.5 mm adapter, etc...)

I'm taking an educated guess at your having 6.5 inch speaker holes in your doors. Best way to tell is if there's grills there already and you can remove the door to be certain.

Your dash speakers are 4 inch speakers.

If you're going to run these speakers off your headunit they will need a low RMS 35 watts RMS at the most. However if you change your mind in the future and want to add an amp then we run into problems. Like you said right now you don't have anything so something is better than nothing. I will start to put up a few speakers that will run off of the headunit power efficiently. Although you could run a 3 way set up with a component speaker system and your 4 inch dash speakers off a 4 channel amp.

Sorry I'm new to this, what's RMS?
Another question: Where will the wires off my new speakers go to? Like where will they plug?

Headunit: Nothing too fancy. Basic 3.5mm input, usb, bluetooth (not necessary). As for the budget, I don't want to spend more than 120-130$

Yes, my doors can fit 6.5 inch speakers.

And like I said, if I don't need an amp, I'd rather not have one.

Budget Set-up

Headunit - http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_60593_Pioneer-DEH-X5500HD.html

6.5 - http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_44518_Crunch-CRS6.53.html

4 inch - http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_44516_Crunch-CRS4.0CX.html

You will also need a Wire harness Dash Kit and Spacers for your doors. You'd have to call them and see what they can do on shipping.

This is budget keep that in mind. But crunch is as cheep as i'd go. If you look in my list i've used a wide range of Maxxonics products and they work.

Are they the Best - No
Do they get the job done - Heck yeah.

If you decide to order from them they can package the Harness and dash kit with the radio. However the shipping is going to get you. I don't know how much it'll be. What i would ask them though is if they can get you one shipping rate if you ordered everything at the same time. vs paying seperate shipping on each item. If not get me some links of stores or websites that cater to Canadians.

Link i gave you shows a wire harness. You will have to run wires to your doors. I'll go into detail when that time comes.

Thanks a lot!!. There is a couple car customizing stores around here so I'll go take a look there to see if I could save myself shipping costs.

And, I do have some wiring knowledge so I won't be a complete noob when that time comes.

I know crutchfield.ca is based in Canada. So if anything I could alson check there

Let me know if something catches your eye. Don't let them rip you off by telling you your stuff will sound better just because it's " Name brand " . You can sometimes find a headunit and set of 6.5's or 5.25's in a package deal. Pioneer does it here at Wal-mart.
