I got a post card in the mail about an impending lawsuit against toyota and it says there may be monetary award if you file a claim involving ETCS. Anyone here anything about this?

No, but I'm sure we'll all get one in the mail shortly.

I got the card a couple of weeks ago. Mine went right to the trash.

I've had those in the past with other cars including my Camry. I didn't have to do anything. They were the ones that said if you do nothing you're included. Then I received a few checks in the mail. Nice!

I have a UPS store box for security reasons and because the mail carriers in my subdivision are incompetent. About 2 weeks apart (both in March) I got one of these notices from Toyota at my house and another notice at my UPS store box, both here in Texas. I don't remember giving Toyota both addresses, but I'm sure they can find out anything they need to. I still get most of my mail in California, but take care of the financial aspects re that mail online (so I only have that mail forwarded to me every couple of months). It will be interesting to see if Toyota also sent me a third notice in California.

why?

if you go ahead and read it, it is total bs.

If you feel the need to hurt one of the finest auto makers of today, then send it in! But know this, in almost all of these types of lawsuits, the only folks to make any money are the lawyers. It's in the lawyers best interest to get as many claims as possible.

 Even though it was uttered by a potential revolutionary as a means to that end (rather than to simplify commercial life), I still like the quote from Shakespeare -- "let's kill all the lawyers"

I got one several weeks ago. If there's any chance of me getting cash, I'm all in.

It won't hurt Toyota. After all we didn't get the Cars for free. We paid a pretty penny.

My brother used to work for a restaurant food chain for a short period of time many years ago and only 1-2 days a week. He keeps getting letters almost once a year or so they are involved in a class action law suite he fills it out and mails it in and they send him a few hundred dollars. Dosnt hurt to send it in.

I think money hes collected over the years totals more than made during the short term he was employed.
