Bought a used 2012 Tacoma yesterday...

...and you just know I won't be able to leave it alone.
(oooh... just can't wait to go to work on this one  )
It's the cheapest base model 4 cylinder 5 speed stick just like the Yaris. It was quite a hunt finding a simple one as most all of them are ridiculously expensive 4x4's, Prerunners, TRD's, access cabs, double cabs, crew cabs...with lots of pricey accessories.

Nice! I love the look of the normal cab ones. I had to go with a double cab one to fit the family, but it takes away from that little truck look. I wanted the I-4, but could not find any around with the 4 cylinder and the double cab.

When you take decent care of a Toyota, it rewards you with many years of useful service. This one will be put into service as my work truck to replace a 17 year old Tacoma.
great looking truck! used to have a 99 prerunner with the standard cab. had to sell it once our daughter came along(couldn't go anywhere together as a family - unless, of course, i rode in the back LOL).
anyways, you say it's not a prerunner or the 4x4, but it looks lifted. did it come like that?

You know you want to make it similar to that Hilux featured on Top Gear ;)

cool, wish i could fit comfortably in standard cab, that being the only thing to not like. great find, simple is what i prefer I don't need all that fancy stuff either.

Yes it did. It came equipped with a 5,000 pound rated towing hitch on the frame (which I removed) so I'm guessing that the springs might be heavy duty. It also has stock 16" Tundra rims on it with big tires that raise it up more.

Base model std cab 5 speeds are rarer than hen's teeth. Not a new one could be found so I settled for slightly used. However, Tacomas are mod candyland!
Already put a header on it and I haven't even driven it 200 miles yet!
