I need to know what fitting the yaris takes in place of the factory oil sending unit. I have an auto meter gauge I want to use. Prefer not to use a sandwich adapter plate. Thanks.

^ You're going to run hot oil into your cabin? Yikes. I can look up the fitting I think.

I also used the stock location, that worked great. Electric gauge though, not mechanical.

Oh yeah I ran one for years on my 5.0 fox body. Never had any issues, key is to not use plastic tubing. Always ran the copper line and never had any issues, since I already have it I want to put it to use.

Any info would be great.

I've have had a mechanical oil pres gauge in my car since '05. Plastic line and all. I don't see what the big deal is. I even started the car with the line unhooked to purge the air out and it took almost a minute for oil to start coming through the line is so tiny. My old '85 honda has the fuel lines, and brake lines all running through the car.

^ You guys are free to use those gauges if you like. I see no advantage to it at all, and I don't like the failures that I have seen, nor do I like running lines through the firewall. As you said, you don't get pressure right away either, how do you get a cold start reading if it takes a minute to reach the gauge?

It's all good, to each his own; the OP has a gauge he wants to re-use, makes sense to me -- trying to find that fitting size.

The line is pressure used slowly. So on cold starts its up to full pressure after about 5 seconds

Oil never gets to the gauge it's mostly just trapped air in the line. It's static, there's no actual oil flowing through the line.

I think the whole idea you can compress air but not liquid idea. Once there is no air in the line any pressure applied to the oil gives you an accurate reading anywhere in the line.

any air trapped in the line just makes the reading slower because air does compress, but the end result is the same reading. Pressure is pressure.

You'll just need a "T" fitting. The sending unit is located under the intake manifold. Make sure to use an oil resistant thread sealant too.

Pretty sure it's just a standard 1/8 NPT fitting
