Hey guys I just wanted to kinda write this as a farewell letter. I know I wasnt part of this forum for very long. But i loved my little yaris alot.

Monday coming home from work I was getting onto the off-ramp at a very buisy section of freeway. Well This particular section always has problems. Well I was the last car in the lineup of slow moving traffic.

So I looked in my rear view mirror to see if the person behind me was going to stop. Nobody was there at least not for a 1/4 mile. Look down then look back up same little green honda CRV is still moving really fast but is super close. I lowered my elbows to reduce shock on my arms and just kinda let my seat cradle me and watched him ram into me at almost full speed. He did try and veer just at the last min.

But there was a nice solid hit taking me and ramming me and him into the car infront of me. Thank god the lady I hit was super nice. the kid who hit me it took his front left suspension arm ripped it completely away from the frame and the tire was just dangling there by the upper strut. Back bumper met the inner part of my trunk.

It was pretty nasty but the little yaris was a trooper It hurt a little but it wasnt violent and I wasnt thrown all over the cockpit. I feel alright im still having some joint pain and mostly in my left shoulder is really bothering me and my muscles like my neck and abs hurt a little but other than that I feel alright.

Thanks mr. yaris Ill miss you

P.S. Ill try to dig up some picks. my gf was going crazy taking pictures once we had it towed.

Wow glad you're ok! There have been lots of reports of people on here getting into accidents and the yaris does it's job in protecting them. Please do post pics!

Any thoughts on a replacement?

Again, glad you're ok!

already got my replacement. Its a 2010 toyota corolla LE. Nice little car. little bit bigger than the yaris but with all the included features and a milage of 8k for a pre-owned I just couldnt say no. I did really like my yaris tho. But what I do like is I could never get the soft pedal down on the yaris. every once in a while I would have kind of a jerky take off from over-throttling it. the corolla has a much more cushy throttle

But yes. This is the second time that little guy was hit in the rear. I was only hoping when I would walk around to the back side of him it wouldnt be so bad. but it was. But thanks to him it really helped

Whew! For minute I thought I'd been offed!! :)

Glad to hear you're OK (even though your Yaris isn't). I rolled my first Yaris about 7 months after I bought it in '09 and came out unscathed. I bought an identical Yaris to replace the totalled one (it's just one year newer). Good luck with the Corolla.

I'm sorry about your Yaris, but glad you are OK.

What was the idiot's excuse that hit you? Texting?

When I finally calmed myself down enough to get out of the car I got out and walked to the back of my car hoping that maybe it wasnt as bad as it felt. and I looked up at him and asked him if he was ok. and he kind of gulped and gave me this look like "your not ready to chew my head off?" and he said "I dont know what happened everyone just stopped so fast" I really wanted to say, really dude? I watched you from a 1/4 mile back your lucky your not going to jail for negligence

Ugh well me and my friend from work that go the same way have voted to never take that route anymore. There is ALWAYS! A problem in that area. unfortunately for me on that day the problem involved me. so im taking slower and more bumpy back roads but are less traveled *sigh*

Thanks everyone

If something ever happened to my Yaris I think I would buy another one in a heartbeat. Its like a part of me on the road and I have never been so happy with a car.
