I've been looking at CTScott's Remote Start DIY Guide (http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24860). It possible to make use of harness adapters to install a remote start system without needing to cut or tap the factory wires?

It is possible, but would be very expensive and quite a bit of labor.

I followed the remote keyless entry DIY and after seeing how very tiny the wiring harness wires were I was tapping into I was very hesitant to do it. But I followed the guide and used the same colored wire taps as in the pictures and everything seems to have gone without a hitch.
