Hi there chaps,

The stock exhaust sounds terrible and it could be on the part of the last silencer box exhaling its last breath. My cousin said that a branch would change the tone of the exhaust to a more mellow note (note I DONT want ricey lol), I can't afford a full system so I turn to your input to help advise me on what to do to change my exhaust note...do I change the branch? or do I put a axle-back system?
Also I need some fuel economy and dont want to put a big exhaust system.
All i want is a mellow sound that sounds good.

I have a Tanable Medalion exhaust touring from MicroImage. Sounds good and with an air-intake to go with it, it does add some power after 3k rpm. Some say you can go to a muffler shop and spend a little more than what that muffler cost and get a whole system put in, but I did not consider that and did not know how it would sound.

Thanks for the help dude, I've chosen to replace the box with a freeflow offset box and tailpiece I'm still deciding on...going to check out the exhaust shops tomorrow

Find an exhaust shop that has a mandrel bender. This is crush bent.

Mandrel bends are superior because they don't reduce the exhaust pipe's area to make the bend. The stock pipe on your Yaris is mandrel bent.

Thanks for the advice, the shops I'm going to both do mandrel bending and have good reviews, one is powerflow and the other, primaforce.

Be careful...several shops will advertise mandrel bending yet only do "smooth" crush bending...which is still a joke.

I know, there are plenty of small shops that do it, but powerflow is international and never had any complaints and primaforce have a good background and have done plenty of the top racer's cars this side

hey do you guys think i still get a little extra power if i just change the whole system with a 2.5'' pipe rather than buying a new system? so keep the original resonator and catalytic converter (i think that's what those two pieces are..?)and just weld regular pieces of pipe to them..
