Hey all, I was wondering if you knew of any wheels that are lighter than the tstock ones. Looks are not important to me, as I would probably use my oem covers as well.

Konig heliums are great lightweight wheels for the cost

13's (not sure if these will clear the brakes)
Civic VX wheels
14's
Civic HX wheels
Mazda Miata BBS wheels
Enkei RPF1
15's
Konig Helium
Konig Feather
Rota Slipstream
Rota Circuit 8
Mazda Miata BBS
949 6UL (tie for best choice between looks, width, and weight)
Enkei RPF1 (tie for best choice between looks, width, and weight)
I'm leaving out the more expensive rims from Volk/Rays, Joustmeister, Regamaster, etc.

The RPF1's are lighter than the 6UL but cost almost twice as much.
You can see a huge list of wheel weights here: http://www.scribd.com/doc/24224938/Rim-Weight

I'm not sure I understand your request: you want lighter wheels that can re-use the stock hubcaps? That rules out pretty much everything, since alloy wheels can't use hubcaps, but another 15" steel wheel is likely to weight just as much...
I know that the Heliums will not be available for another few monts from the manufacter. I just purchased some Feathers which I like. I did not get the RPF1s , less than 10lbs, cause I would had to use a 7in width tire and they are twice as much. Stock are 16lbs. Heliums and Feathers are about 12lbs. RPF1s are less than 10lbs.

Thank you all for your answers. Crankyoldman, my thinking was to make it look as close to stock as possible that's why I said I wanted to keep the wheel covers. I was hoping maybe there were steelies that were light.

Why not just stick with the stock wheel then? The stock wheels aren't TOO heavy, and you're planning on re-using the stock covers for them.
If you want a lighter alloy wheel, you probably won't be able to re-use the stock wheel covers.
I currently have SSR type F wheels in a 16x7 size +42 offset, they weigh about 11lbs each, but they're a little on the pricey side.

There aren't. Because steel.

I won't say impossible, but I've never seen it done on a Yaris.

I knew a guy who had the HX wheels, but wanted to keep a low profile on his '89 Si Civic. He did just that. Zip tied OEM wheel covers to the lighter HX wheels.
He went as far as removing his sun-roof equipped roof and swapped in a solid roof from a DX model (base model)

Don't understand why. Aren't the Yaris' light enough? Any lighter and they'll blow away in the wind while standing still.

I just did a quick google search, didn't see the RPF1's go for under 200. Then again, didn't spend any time looking.

Essentially makes the engine work more efficiently by having to work less to rotate lighter wheels (frees up some existing hp to the wheels), so better acceleration. Also enables you to stop sooner and corner better. Oh, and better mpg.

Cool. Thanks for the link. I only did google shopping, and don't think that website came up.
OP, I'd go with the RPF1's. Get em while they're still on sale.

Jelly. You have two sets of very light weight rims. lol. Your LB must be able to accelerate pretty well.

big difference going from my old 16" borbet type-c that were 19lbs to the 949's. made it a totally different car. even going from the 13lb kosei k1's i have also to the 949's or rpf-1's you can feel its more responsive. i dont feel any difference between the 949's or rpf1's they are almost the same weight and they put down identical lap times, 949 says they are 11.5 lbs but when i got mine i put them on a calibrated shipping scale and the lightest one was 9.4 and the heaviest one was 9.7 so they are almost the same as the rpf1's that range from 9.1 to 9.6

lol, I'm sure I'd feel a HUGE difference if I got one or the other considering my current wheel and tire combo is 43.5lbs per corner
Wait, that's not funny

43 lbs?!?!?! :-O
you should buy my Volks! At 17x7.5, with tires, they weigh in at 32lbs. LIGHT

lol. Yup, my staggered VS-XX set up (17x7 and 17x8) with what ever Japanese tires are on them weigh 43.5lbs each. Thought there was something wrong with the scale, so I weighed myself for a baseline, and then weighed myself carrying each wheel/tire at a time. All came out to be 43.5lbs ???
justjesus, I've had too many 17's already (five sets so far if I haven't forgotten one). lol. If I ever get another set of rims, it'll be those 6UL in nickel color in 15x7. hahaha =D

The only reason I have the 17s myself, is that they came with my CRX. That little thing has huge brakes and needs clearance. I've since bought 16s. Eventually, I ditch the big brakes and go to 15s.
I had some nice lightweight wheels on the Yaris... totally feel the difference.

Yeah, when I had 16" Rota Grids, I could feel the differences when ever I would swap between it and one of the 17's I had. haha. I can only imagine what really light weight 15's would feel like.
