11.1 is the size of the actual tank. You have to take into account how much gas fills up the filler tube.

No, no reserve.. just 11.1 gal (U.S.) tank and whatever it takes to fill the fill tube. As someone here mentioned, reading the manual is a good thing..

i get gas as soon as the last bar starts blinking.. i can be 2 blocks away, it start blinking and ipull into a gas station and fill it up and i can STILL get 10-10.3 or so gallons into the car. So i am going to say that its a gallon on the filler neck alone.

if you top it off, then you can put in more gas than the tank size, but thats ill-advised. more often than not, when people can put in more gas than what their tanks hold, its the station ripping you off. the "more" gas they sell you, the more they make. be sure the pumps have been recently inspected and approved by the proper civil departments, be it weights and measures or so forth. all the stations near me have dated and initialed stickers on all of their pumps certifying accuracy. i have yet to put in more gas than my tank can hold...

You'll want to watch that... It my understanding that the car cools the fuel pump with gas in the tank, so running it down to the bottom is harder on the pump. May not matter, but I think the manual mentions filling up at 1/4 tank (two bars on the digital gauge) for just this reason.

Save yourself the trouble... there were a few members doing this, and it ruined their fuel pumps. Our fuel pumps use the fuel running thru it to cool it, and by going that long with so little fuel in the tank, you risk becoming a member of the burnt out fuel pump club.

I'm not saying anyone has done this but I would just like to point out that intentionally filling the gas tank's neck is bad juju and bleeds off a high amount of hydrocarbons as evaporative emissions right as you stand there. If the lighting is right you can actually see these emissions pouring out of the neck.

This is why stopping when the pump automatically shuts off is recommended everywhere, and is even the law in a few places.

i put 12 in it one time. a trip from atlanta to daytona beach. i was having fun driving and forgot all about gas.. i made it. but my heart sunk when i looked at it getting off the exit when i saw some gas stations.
