Those are some very large wheels:eyebulge:

spkrman
03-25-2007, 05:50 AM
although, they don't really look so "oversized" on the car... then again I'm used to this sort of look lol.

Lots of folks are gonna mistake (already happened tonight) for 18's, and I'm not sure if I can bring myself to put one of those 20" badges on the side....

You need a Skyjacker and some 26's.

when i first got my 17" rims I had massive tires on them because I got them for free...they had as much fender gap as his 20s do.

If you turn all the way one way or the other they rubbed, the fronts rubbed against the fenders if you hit a bump or pothole while driving, the rears rubbed against the plastic mudgaurd in the rear fenderwells. While it wasn't damaging to the rear tires, over every speed bump or slight dip in the road you would hear this horrible scraping sound.

My advice to you is what I learned the hard way...if the tires in the front have too much of a offset and may rub on the fenders, grab yourself two flush head screws and replace the two very oversized machine screws in the front fender. the screws on my sedan were on the outer lip at about the 3 o clock position if you are looking straight at the wheel.

those suckers were nasty, and my oversized tires would have lasted longer if I had gotten rid of them sooner.

EDIT: your hatchback may not have the same screws my sedan did, but to be safe, look around the area where the top of the bumper ties in with the fenders sheetmetal, there may be some very large machine screws that will chew your tires up.

I will without a doubt be going over the wheel well with a fine toothed come front and rear. Thx for the info though!

So when ya going to lower it?

it must be bagged...

yes its required now.

If I *could* i'd drop it just 1", and it would be puuurrrrfect... but it would rub like a trucker at an adult bookstore.

Needs maybe a .5-1" lift while cruising, and 1-2" drop while parked

werd!

who needs to stop when your rims are big enough to just roll over the car in front of you?

Question: Can you turn?

as stated above, rubs on full lock and nothing else, its very surprising.

I would have to totally rework this air system for ya so you can ride higher than stock, I planned to set it up at it's highest point stock and it's lowest point... well as low as I could make it..... and I want to try and get it on and done by Indy Bash, wouldn't that be killer, a bagged blacked out Yaris, a Yaris rollin Dubs, who knows what Chino will be sportin by then, and who ever else comes, all at Indy Bash... killer

yep, just a weeeeee little lift for general cruisin, as opposed to running a much stiffer suspension.

But yea, it would be the shyte, wish I could have it ready in time for the chicago dub show :headbang:

well I should easily adapt what I am planning to work with your 20's, and to go above stock hight (monster truck Yaris on dubs, ridin like a caddy) What I think I will do is make adapter plates for you so if you ever wanted to go to a smaller wheel so you could lay your yaris out you would just have to remove the adapters and get an alignment... God I got so many projects going on, so lil time

I have decided to go with the custom air struts for the front, and the space saver tank you found, going with firestone 2500 double bellow bags, valving, gauges, switches and compressor I will get what ever is on sale when I order, but the whole budget I am still looking at about 1000 bux....for about 6 inches of travel... huh now that I think of it, this would work for you with the 20's you just gotta run a lil more air pressure than us with 15's :) but watch it with big bumps and a cushy ride, may have some major rubbin action

1000 is on the money, if it can be done, it will be done before indy bash/dub show for shizzle

Shut your mouth Steve.... "no bro looking rims that are all ghettofied" what exactly are bro looking rims? I am sure there are some members of this site that may take statement negatively. One of those things about being 16 or how ever old you are is you don't think before you talk and/or type.... you do not realize other ppl may actualy read this do ya?

to update... it takes more pressing the pedal to brake the same as before, but at the same time, it feels much more stable and I'd assume it can still stop faster.

you guys suck!

I've gotten "nice 18's" "they look like 18's" "wow 18's fit?"... and one guy walking up to the car, and checking the tire to see what size they were, then looking like "wtf!"... I was in a mexican food place and saw em.

When people realize its 20... lol

Ok I admit... I would also assume they were 18's.

Now I understand why people on cardomain put up 100's of pics of their car... its fun to take em in random places!

the chrome looks awsome with that car colour.
youll notice after a while that the plastic clips on the back of the front fender will be chewed down quite a bit. and be damn carefull to not go full lock at any decent speed - there are hooks welded to the frame rail that will eat up your tires real quick.

Any bigger and you might as well buy rubber bands to pull over the rims instead of tires.

BTW, that's really safe having to worry about chewing up tires and being careful when turning. I can 100% guarantee your stopping distance is now downright dangerous. Thanks for making our roads less safe. I guess you can't teach people class.
