Hey guys, I am going to buy a yaris and would like to customize it. Nothing too fancy right away, just new rims, tint, and possibly a kit. Anyways I have never modified any cars so I need some help. Did you all have shops put your rims and kits on? How do I know if I can trust a certain shop with doing that right? What would be a good tint percentage? like I said I'm soo new to this and want a sweet ride...so help is appreciated. Thanks

I would start by looking in the YarisGarage and see what you like in there. For the wheels and body kits I would recomend one of the many vendors we have here on Yaris World, They give us much better pricing than they do to the public, and many of them are online a lot to help you with your choices and are very helpfull. Just PM me if ya need help finding anything

Lowering it, adding wheels tires and tint should not be more than $1000 unless you want some expensive wheels.

You have a Sedan or Liftback?

what size wheels are you thinking about getting? that will be a big factor along with the brandname as to how much you are gonna spend.

Check the garage and the wheel/supension part of this site and see what others have done to their cars and decide what you would like.

then just contact some of the vendors here and see what kind of pricing you will get. just remember to have fun while doing this to your ride, is the reason why we do it!

i'm thinking about 17" or 18" wheels, can I order online through the vendors and have parts shipped to me or is it best to go to a shop?

also how much does it cost to lower the car and how much should it be lowered? If I was to put on a body kit or another bumper would I lower it beforehand?

you can do it either way just look for the lowest price. as for the lowering it depends on what kind of kit you will get. if it's just springs you will prob pay about 150-200$ for the kit. if you have to pay to install them i would add another $100 to that.

if you get struts you will pay another $300-500 depending on brandname.

just post here as you go along what you are going to buy and we can help you out!

thanks for the reply, I like the look of the lowered yaris but if I put a kit or different bumper and skirts on, is it necessary to lower it? i know lowering it would probably give it better performance. But doesn't the kit and bumpers give it that "lowered" look without having to lower it? do you know of any places with kits that fit a yaris? or do they have to be specially ordered and fitted?

one factor is the wheel well gap...an eye sore...that's why i'm going to lower my Yaris.

hey Jenna, i spent $521 for TRD struts and Tein lowering springs, and 61 bucks on a strut bar...you can lower your car with the OEM struts/shocks, but they won't last that long and will need to be replaced. Tein is a little more pricey when compared to Tanabe, Sprint, or the other brands, but they offer a stiffer rear spring, meaning that they should not bottom out as easily.

some of the vendors here might have a lower price, but if not, here's the DF210 from Tanabe

I did 20% all around for tint, not legal but I am old man so I get away with it.
