Hey guys/gals, watch the uploaded video and give me your thoughts on the possible problem.

Plugs were changed to correct spec, starting motor cleaned up and lubed, gas tank filter was cleaned. No diagnostic codes revealed. Additional grounds were added, battery changed last year. Still the problem persists especially on a colder morning, keep in mind however our ambient temps are around 28 degrees Celsius. Throttle body was cleaned as well.

The service manual for the 1KR-FE points to that kind of a cold start issue being caused by fuel pump issues.

I had this too only once a few weeks back... how many km's / miles do you have on your car? Mine has 86 000 KM and a friend told me this could probably be the ignition distributer getting ''old''... If this happens to me all the time then I wille replace that part first.

98 000 km manufactured in 2007 how can i be sure is that? On a computer test it have no errors.

you need to check the fuel pressure using a pressure gauge
if the fuel pressure is OK only then you can test further

the 1kr has nothing known as the ignition distributor

The Yaris is coil on plug, rather than using a distributor. However, those can get weak/break. I don't know if the Yaris is prone to that or not, but it doesn't hurt to take a look. They're easy to get to.

I have exactly the same problem and the SAME engine.
when starting my car from cold start or from a long rest (e.g. >5hours), I get this sound.
I went to see a car mechanic and electric expert.
The Mechanic did not find the problem since when I already start the car to go to the mechanic, the problem does not come back again (remember-- You need to have the car rested for >5hr approx.)... so mechanic couldn't get the problem to come back in order to detect it.

I went to see a car electric expert. Starter was serviced and everything checked.

Problem still occurred after the servicing.

But what I did to resolve the problem now is:

Every time I have to start the car out from cold, I accelerate gently and at the same time start the car.

PROBLEM SOLVED! Car starts at first ignition and problem NEVER reoccurred.

I think the problem is maybe the fuel pump or fuel goes back to the fuel tank after a long rest (it does not stay in the fuel line up to the accelerator pedal - hence the reason it takes some times to start in the morning since the fuel pump starts pumping fuel when you start the car...).
