Low rolling restance tires

Hey,
Has anyone on here gotten low rolling resistance tires on their Yaris?
If so did it help mileage at all? Did it make handling worse?

Have Bridgestone Ecopia 422s' on the '08 sedan and '11 FIT . Seem fine for both . Were purchased for less than $65 each ( 8 ) for both cars . Keep them at 35 > 36 p.s.i.. They are quiet and handle well . We're not speed demons , so results may vary .

Whats that mean?

To some people on here that is keeping it at 55mph, others it's going 80 instead of 95. lol.

I've got an auto too and seem to get 40ish mpg when cruising at 62-65 mph, but my overall average is way way less since I spend a lot of time sitting in stopped traffic.

Did the mileage go up when you changed tires?

I have Procontact Continental tires that replaced the oem tires. The oem new were giving me about 33 mpg, when they were bald it was more like 37 mpg. Changing to the new tires got me 33 mpg, that is LRR. The interstate I can get 36 mpg but that is going 72 to 75 mpg. The car handles alot better and i have gone to about 35 psi instead of 30 to 32 psi on the oem. So back to original question, I really did not see better mpg, but I am much happier with the Procontacts.

We had the Continental Pro Contact with Eco Plus before the 422s' . Those were very good in the rain and handled well . The gas mileage is the same for both . The Eco Plus wore very quickly and became loud . The EP 422s' are wearing slighltly better . The Eco Plus are said to wear fast by other users at Tirerack . The 422s' are wearing better on the '11 FIT than the Yaris sedan and have been in use for 2 seasons . Use winter tires for both . The EP 422's can be bought for less than the Eco Plus by at least $20 each . Here's the gas mileage so far . Added a 10 ounce bottle of Chevron Techron to the tank . Eco Meter was at 41 , but 3 people , groceries , some city traffic , and a few steep hills killed it .

LRR tires can build up static electricity in the car so you get shocked when exiting it.

Went for groceries and a few other items on Sunday afternoon . It was very windy , gusts close to 30 . There were 3 people and 70+ lbs. of groceries and other things . Had to climb 2 very steep hills to and back . Also a bad day hitting red lights and dealing with some crazy drivers . Here are the results . The other will be taking the car today for 60+ miles . The Eco-Meter has been reading about .5 lower than the calculated gas mileage . It's set at 97 . So could be close to 44 m.pg.. The EP 422s are set @ 37 p.s.i..

Looked at the Entyre , but they were more $ . Got the Ecopias for under $65 each . That includes tax .

Filled up at 1 blinking bar . Calculated gas mileage was 44.199 (444.2 mis. / 10.05 gals. ) . 43.9 is start of new tank . Ecopias at 37 .

Seems like driving style has much more of a factor than the tires.
I'm getting pretty much the same numbers as you are but with michelins at 40psi and driving 55 all the time
