Any ideas where to mount a 7' tablet in a 2012+ Yaris.

Hmm, not seeing much room. A possible spot is where the head unit is, but then what about the radio?
Maybe a bracketed system propping it up below the HVAC controls but then your cup holders are blocked.
Any setup is going to create compromises.

How about something like this, or a variation of it. Bend it down and out of the way when not in use. Completely reversible.

 Brilliant idea. Looking into the future though, as a business, won't CD players continue to drop in popularity? Perhaps they are already looking past that and look at this as a 'striking while the iron is hot' type of product.

Oh, I think there's plenty of potential customers for years to come as it is. I also doubt that CD players will be removed from new cars since it would be a massive inconvenience for essentially no gain.
Consider this: If they don't include a CD player in a new car, they can't charge you more money down the road to replace it if it breaks.

I was probably being too 'western centric' with that thought. I did see some cars at the Houston Auto Show (at Reliant Center in January) this year (same models as in dealerships) that had moved past having a CD player (I can't remember which ones though :frown:). As discussed in different sections on multiple threads, some features continue in less developed parts of the world (usually re cost) after they have become less popular or have disappeared from the U.S. and similar markets. I think the CD will, probably slowly, follow that trend. So, you're right, and the potential demand for the linked product will probably be present for a fairly long time.

the roof is the only place to mount a 7' tablet.....but it will kill your fuel efficiency.
you could probably find a 7" tablet and mount it inside the car somewhere.

So far, the Chevy spark is the only car I've seen in our fleet that does not have a CD player. BT, USB, sd flash drive. No aux input :-O

Good. I hope if you end up seeing more models so equipped, that the progression is VERY SLOW .

 I especially like the cup holder mounts (if they fit snugly enough).

Been considering doing the same with my 10" tablet. Blocking the head unit wouldn't be a problem cuz it would be the HU (gps, music, etc)...plus in my 2012 SE the steering wheel has all the basics. Just use bt for audio (and occasional movie for passengers) and considering hiding an extra exthdd im not using to store content and connect over usb to the tablet...biggest problem tho is finding a decent cheap mount(unemployed at the moment haha)

I remember seeing a table that attaches to your steering wheel when you're not driving. Might have been at Camping World or one of those motorhome accessory catalogs.
