I just picked up a Yaris last night, and today went and grabbed some cheap seat covers to hold me over till I find something better, but when I started to put them on I found my mistake, I have the side airbags.

So these have to go back to pep boys.

I've been looking and I can't find any seat covers that work with the side airbags, and the dealer is no help at all on this.

So do you guys have any tips? Sources? options?

Knowing me I'm sure to ruin these seats within weeks if I don't get something on them.

Thanks.

hrm, in previous cars I have dealt with that had options like side airbags, the seat covers had to be custom made or they just reupolstered the seats with leather...very expensive though...

Yeah, my options are looking pretty slim at this point.

On my 01 Civic I had side airbags with aftermarket seatcovers, I just traced around the air bag part and cut that part out, it worked for me.

That might work.

Is the airbag part just that little side wing?

Heck, looking at it I can't see how it works with the factory upholstery, the seam looks normal.

I'm not sure on the Yaris because I don't have any side airbags, but on my civic you can see on the side of the seat where the side airbags were(probably a plastic part on the side of the seat), and I just cut around that.

Nothing like that on these, just that little wing. Hell, the stiching looks the same, I don't see how these things deploy at all.

Maybe they aren't really there, they just instal that tag to fool us. :iono:
