I have a 2007 Toyota Yaris Sedan 5 speed Manual Transmission.
I've had the car for over a year now.
I was in the process of fixing the squeaky noise when I shift from 1 to 2 using the info from a sticky on this website (which worked great! :D), when
I saw something tangled deep down in between my engine and my battery.
It looks like rope. Can anyone tell me what the heck it is and should it be there?
I feel like pulling it out but idk if it was put there on purpose or not.
Looks like a saftey hazard leaving there though.
Can anyone help. Please. Thanks.

Ive attached some pictures.

Hard to tell from the pics (not your fault, it's a real pain in the ass to take pics of back there), but it looks like a little critter decided to take up residence in your engine bay at some point in time.

That looks a whole lot like a mouse nest.

OK i got it all out. Definitely smelled like rodent as I pulled all that junk out. I had to stick my vacuum cleaners hose down there to get all the little pieces out. It was a mixture of rope, cardboard and thread. lol.
Thanks for the help guys !. Believe it or not I've never seen that before.
Now im off to explore some more how-to threads on this forum! :)

Maybe that squeaky noise was actually a mouse?
