17x8.5 25mm offset?

I would get the black ones and then slam the car as much as I can. The car is slow so might as well make it look good.

i personally think rim width is too wide, and offset is too low. if it was 17x7.5, offset ~40mm, then you'd be ok. really hard to find a nice wheel with lots of lip in a higher positive offset. they look nice though!

why?

From what I've been told here they might not be able to fit over the front brakes, etc.

i dont see why a 17" wheel will have any problems clearing the front brakes

If you want the look of a multi-piece wheel, you should buy a multi-piece wheel. :P

why?

Its the +25 mm part, not the size part.

I doubt you'd have much problems with rubbing.

Do we know the stock offset on the Yaris? I think it's +40 or +42; I know it's higher than the xB, which is +38.

If you lower the car with a +25, you might have to worry about rubbing. Tirerack.com is recommending +40 and higher for the Yaris. If anyone is in the Milwaukee, WI area, I'd be willing to slap on one of my wheels (+35) to see if it'd rub.

Isn't the offset completely dependent on the rim width? So +40 might be what they recommend for a 7" wide rim, but not necessarily for an 8.5" wide rim.

yeah I know, but these are going to be my daily rims and they have a a high chance of getting screwed up. I am buying show wheels and they will be a lot more expensive.

Well, since you're so tactless about your opinion on everyone else's choices I'll just say that they're fugly as all hell and the fact that it's a poser rim makes it even worse. Please don't buy those.
