That story is over a year old, and as with many university projects it seems to have lost steam.
I would really like to do an electric conversion of a Yaris and would like to do so using four hub motors to allow it be 2 wheel drive (front or rear) or 4 wheel drive and to have control over the differential effect (where you can go from normal to limited slip to full locking differential effect, simply by programmatic control of the H-bridges driving the motors).
