hey all
I have a long story about my new ride, but to make it short I was supposed to get a remote starter installed. well after 3 vists I finally find out that they wont do it, because its a stick and theres no clutch sensor or something. so I said forget it, I dont really want it anyways. I looked through the toyota catalog and the only other thing I could find that I wanted was the lowering springs. its supposed to lower the car 1.2" or something. I told them to do that instead of the starter.
the retail on the springs are $225 and they are going to install them as part of the deal. the remote starter option was $300, am I getting raped on this deal? the other option I could do ist just take a $300 check and get this done somewhere else or buy something else for the car. it would be nice to have them do everything so that if there is an issue I can just take it back to the dealer.

Get the struts. Aren't they closer to that $300 price tag? You can pick up springs from any one of 4082 companies. at different levels of drop and a lot cheaper than the $220 price tag on those TRD's... struts are a little tougher to find.

the struts are more money, and i cant do both.
so $300 for TRD springs dealer installed is crap? Im thinking about just taking the $$, I can do more stuff with the mula then just lowering it.

lower it, you'll be happier with the ride no matter what springs you go with, but I do suggest doing it right the first time:cool:

$300 installed isn't too bad.

I payed $450 for my remote start but its a Clifford one of the best security systems around and of course my car is auto. Why dont you get a intake or something performance wise.

Im going to get an intake, but this was just what the dealer could install for me. there is no dealer intake. I guess I will have them lower it then, if its an ok deal. its just for the springs and labor...

I agree 300. sounds fine to me, it isn't a difficult job but that sounds like a fine deal considering the cost of the springs themselves:thumbsup:

Do they have to align the car after this is done?

Don't have to. That is up to you really.
