i hear chirping only in drive and not moving. when moving i may not be able to hear it. dealership says donut where exhaust is connected to manifold. went to another garage. they said they couldn't find leak at the donut and if it was the donut gasket i should hear the chirping in park and drive. i recently had this donut gasket replaced not by dealership who wanted $210.00.

any suggestions appreciated. oh, one more detail. if after driving the car and i stop leaving the car idling in drive i can hear the chirping but the chirping stops if i leave the car idling about 10 - 15 minutes. then if i drive the car a short distance and stop and let the car idle while in drive the chirping starts.

thanks

It may be the belt or one of the exhaust heat shield. Pop the hood while it is doing it to see if you can locate the general area where it seems to be coming from.

bird nest?

lmao

btw when I turn on the ignition, I get this chirping noise for like 2-3 seconds. this chirping noise(which sounds like its coming from the belt) only happens when my car has been sitting for like 3 hours or more. any idea what it could be?

more likely a belt. probably too tight or too loose.

if you checked the tightness on the belt/s and seem ok, try candle stick method on all the belts. (while belts are spinning put a candlestick against it so wax gets to the teeth of the belt) see if the chirp goes away.
