Just bought this along with the SSK and bracket neither came with instructions but I was able to install the SSK bracket by looking at some other posts on here. These go in the transmission side ends of the cables right? How do I get the old bushings off? The larger one is rubber and the smaller one looks like it's plastic. I can probably cut up the rubber one enough to get it off but what about the plastic one?

I believe there are cotter retaining pins that make it a lot easier to remove the bushings. And yes, they go in the engine bay at the ends of the cables, directly replacing the OEM bushings that are on there.

The new bushings do have the snap rings that are taken on and off with snap ring pliers, that is not a problem. On closer inspection, both original bushings are rubber. The smaller one just seems firmer. What I'm asking is how do I take the original bushings off? It looks like I can't take them off without cutting them up if the cables are on the car. So I don't have the option of going back to the old bushings.

You will not have to cut anything.

I believe there are cotter pins holding the bushings on, aren't there? The bushings sit on pins, and there are cotter pins passing through those pins? Someone will chime in here that has their car in front of them. I can take a look at mine later this morning at the shop.

The cotter pins just hold the cable ends in place and the oem rubber bushings are pressed in. I just cut the oem rubber bushings so I can get them off so I got the new aluminum ones in. The shifter feels great just takes a bit more effort than stock.
