I saw this online, they seem to be the radio outputs, but I don't know if they are from my radio, as the ones people have in the US are different.

The red arrows indicate the plugs that are connected to something already, and the orange one is the antenna, I guess. Where are the inputs for the stereo aux( if the car is pre-wired to do so) ??

Taken from ViosClub Philippines, maybe it will help: (this is for Fujitsu Ten brand, for Panasonic (that's because we have 2 releases here, the later one was Panasonic-made) Resistor: Pins 18-19; Aux: Pins 15,16,17)

PART TWO: RESISTOR, CABLE AND WIRES.

Step 1. Pull out the 20pin connector located at the rightmost part at the back of the head unit.
important: The numbering starts at the lower left as port 1 to port 20 ending at the upper right.
http://i1343.photobucket.com/albums/o795/glennlosentes/DIY%20-%20AUX%20VIOS/IMG_4843.jpg

Using a small pin get the divider for the wires seen in the image below
http://i1343.photobucket.com/albums/o795/glennlosentes/DIY%20-%20AUX%20VIOS/IMG_4908.jpg

Now its ready to be wired.

Step 2. Get the 2.4k resistor and put wires on each side
I'm not so sure why do you need the resistor. AFAIK, it allows you to have AUX since i dont have AUX in the HU.
Currently i only have DISC. The resistor will set it to AUX when you press the DISC button.
Probably JohnM can answer more clearly.

In my configuration the resistor with the red strip (left side) connects to the negative attached with a black colored wire with terminal.
This will be plugged/inserted in the 3rd port of the 20pin connector

On the other side is the red wire with terminal that connects to the positive.
This will be plugged/inserted in the 2nd port of the 20 pin connector

http://i1343.photobucket.com/albums/o795/glennlosentes/DIY%20-%20AUX%20VIOS/IMG_4911.jpg

Return the pin divider in Step 1. This will ensure you that there will be no overlapping of terminals and wires.
Test if you have AUX by clicking the DISC button.

''' hello AUX '''

if you don't have any AUX please check the wirings.

Step 3. Prepare the AUX cable (3.5 audio cable wire)
Cut the cable and strip the wires. You will have (3) : white wire, red wire and unshielded wire.
http://i1343.photobucket.com/albums/o795/glennlosentes/DIY%20-%20AUX%20VIOS/IMG_4912.jpg

Remove the pin divider to be able to connect the AUX cable same as Step 1.

In my configuration i used 3 wires RED, BLACK AND YELLOW* wires with terminals.

a. RED wire w/ terminal connects to the RED wire of the AUX cable. This will be plugged/inserted* to the 4th port of the 20pin connector
b. BLACK wire w/ terminal connects to the unshielded wire (ground) of the AUX cable. This will be plugged/inserted* to the 5th port of the 20pin connector.
c. YELLOW wire w/ terminal connects to the WHITE wire of the AUX cable. This will be plugged/inserted* to the 6th port of the 20pin connector

Return the pin divider in Step 1. This will ensure you that there will be no overlapping of terminals and wires.
http://i1343.photobucket.com/albums/o795/glennlosentes/DIY%20-%20AUX%20VIOS/IMG_4913.jpg

Plug the 20pin connector. Test your AUX by plugging in a player or audio source.

''' hello AUX audio '''

if you don't have any AUX audio please check the wirings.

that is refered to a Vios. I have a yaris. So, as much as I apreciate the help, it is useless in my case. Thanks!

The Vios is the Sedan version of the Yaris, so it is basically the same. But, the radio mention above is very different from your European one. There is not an OEM option for AUX for that radio. If you do an ebay search for the model number of your radio (which I believe is 86120-0d210) you will see some aftermarket solutions.

Here is one as well from a site in the UK: http://www.nexxia.co.uk/product.asp?s=Connects2%20CD%20MP3%20Adaptors&c=Toyota%20MP3%20Car%20Adapter&product_code=CTVTYX002

so you're saying that the car is not pre wired to do the aux install, and I will need to buy that module that you mentioned on the link above?

Yes. The headunit itself does not support AUX, so the aftermarket modules use the CD changer interface to give you an AUX input.

CT scott, there are some yaris in my country( Portugal) with an auxiliar input from factory.
The radio is a bit different though
The ones with aux:

Mine:

Although mine does not have an aux button, if it was pre wired to do so, couldn't I connect the left, right and ground from the stereo jack to the same plug of the cd? ANd then press the cd button to use the aux?

The ones which do not have the AUX button require an interface to the CD changer port. You can't just connect wires to the connector.

I think I get it now.. The yaris from 2007 to 2009 don't come with aux or even pre wired. The facelift( 2009 to 2012) are the ones that already have aux or wiring to do so. All the 2007-2009 have the 2nd radio of above, and all the 2009-2012 have the 1st radio above...

The budget option will go through a fm transmitter I guess, and a new fuse to the 12v socket.

Here's an ebay one that shows a connection diagram. Note the list of compatible radios. If you look on the face of yours you will see a 5 digit or one letter and 5 digit code for the radio, which should be one of the ones in the compatibility list (16852 ,12821 ,13803 ,17006 ,17828 ,50323 ,53816 ,53818 ,58814 , 58816 ,58827, P3914 ,P3916 ,P7809 , A56828 , W53901 ,W53903, W53905, W58810, W58814, W58831)

The reason I posted the Vios reference is a "just-in-case-it-helps" thing.

i was wondering what are pins 18 and 19 for exactly (the pins that you would connect the resister to??)
