Lanzar? Dual? Boss? Soundstorm? Absolute?

I've never heard of ANY of these brands, but they've got some pimp equipment for chump change. I'm not an audio snob... despite my many cars, I've only had one aftermarket unit my entire life. Wonder how these nobodies stack up when you're as ignorant as myself? :iono:

Personally if someone offered me a $200 7" in dash LCD I would only buy it as a joke. I would even be weary of a $500 LCD. You get what you pay for in most cases. If you want some quality at a reasonable price stick to the reputable guys. Alpines 07 line looks promising. $200 this year will get you what $600 did a few years ago. Just my opinion.

Noobies? Lanzar and Boss have been around longer than you been alive if you do not know who they are. They used to be REAL big back in the day, but have died down do to larger companies with more money making bigger badder toys...

Dual has been around for a while too, they are pretty good, never herd anything bad about them, but as for the others, you are on your own..

hehe... like I said, car audio has never been my thing.

After I saw Boss' logo, I DID recognize them... think AutoZone carries some of their stuff. And legacy sounds vaguely familiar, though I can't say from where.

I really am tempted to try one of those, Boss in particular.. It's gotta' be better than stock, right?

My opinion, The stock deck ain't bad with better speakers. The magnets are the size of quarters. Secondly, It's all what you talking about, single din, or double din. You can get a great single din for less than $200. If its for the Porn in the car, i say buy a cheapy for now, and up grade in a while. BTY Walmart sells Dual, so watch out for that!!!

Had a Legacy amp once.. it lasted 2 years then croaked.. and put out about 1/4 of it's rated power.. better to buy "real" stuff..

There are so many car audio brands out there, Dual is a base brand like Jensen, and Boss as far as this time right now is garbage.

Don't get caught in the good looks and the cheap price. There is a reason for it. If your gonna spend the money wait and do it the right way. I just recently worked in car audio for 2 years.

Go with Kicker, Eclipse, Alpine, MTX, JL, Pioneer, Polk, Infinity, Memphis, if you haven't heard of the brand there is a reason.

...being installed in an entry level car. Imagine that!

Seriously though, after some speculation, I'm actually considering going full in-car computer now. You can get a base system for under $400 (not including monitor). THAT could be really cool, and opens up some really interesting possibilities.

Add in some voice recognition software..... oooooo fun!

Correctamundo! When you get down to it it is so easy it makes me sick. I wish I was a true audiophile. I'd have a system that would make Stephen Hawking think "damn, I wish my shit was that automatic."
